This is just a friendly reminder to my friends in the States that Little Dorrit will be premiering on PBS's Masterpiece tonight.

Reasons why you should watch:
  • It's written by Andrew Davies, illustrious screenwriter of Pride and Prejudice and Bleak House.
  • The amazing cast that includes Matthew Macfadyen, Andy Serkis, Russell Tovey, and half of the cast of Law and Order: UK.
  • Claire Foy, the actress who plays Amy Dorrit, is so good in what I surmise to be her first major role. Really, she's a sensation to watch. You see a whole story in her big eyes alone.
  • You get to see Eddie Marsan play leap frog!
  • Hello, it's a British costume drama based on Dickens. That should really sell itself.

I think it'll be on at 9pm, but you should check your local listings just to be sure. I've already seen the whole miniseries (and have every episode saved on my external hard drive, natch), but I will be watching tonight so I can marvel at it again, this time in GLORIOUS HIGH-DEFINITION. THANK YOU, CHANNEL 9-1.
