Can You Smell What the Rock Is Cooking?

Maladaptive's entry about Axe friggin body spray has prompted me to write on body scents. For the longest period of time, I never wore body scent, no deodorant, no body spray, no cologne. Occasionally I used Bath and Body Works Country Apple or Vanilla Bean (smells like cotton candy! SO awesome!), but not often. One day at school they were giving out like, bodyworks gift boxes in the bookstore, for him and for her. Oh wow, that was the semester after I broke up with Keiris, I did not remember that until just now.

Anyways, they had a can of Axe: Phoenix. I tried it out, for shits and giggles. It didn't smell bad, in fact, it was quite nice. Keiris came to visit later that day, and I asked her opinion of my new cologne, and she said it wasn't bad.

"You're going to laugh when I tell you what it is."
"Oh? Tell me"
"It's a free sample of Axe bodyspray"
Girl laughs while rolling her eyes and me and goes, "Yea, it does kinda make me feel like sex."

No, didn't go anywhere from there, even if we were in that post breakup limbo where sometimes we had sex. >.>

I wrote an entry about hugging couple months ago. Before I dated M, I never knew what people smelled like. Personal bubbles keep out scent as well as body contact. So Keiris was the 1st person whose scent I made a note of. Wait, it wasn't even the hugging, it was the scent on her jacket. An odd scent like perfumes and flowers, but not really.

Looking at the other entry, when I hugged Anna, I noted that she smelled really nice. Thinking about it for a bit, I asked her later what shampoo and bodywash she used, because that's what most people smell like, whatever soap they use. Some sort of Herbal Essence, i forget which... I'll have to ask her again, it smelled really good. Jen smells musky, like animals, cuz she sleeps with her dog and cat. I like it, my parents hate it (a bit of a strong smell, that).

Me? Without scent, I smell kinda like oranges (said M), or rather burnt marmalade (says Jen). Alternatively, if I'm wearing clothes fresh out of the dryer I smell like springtime and sunshine (says Yuki-hime).
