Please forgive me for not having made an entry in so long.
Tara reminded me that I had obtained this technological terror when she saw that I'd been maintaining my Watcher diaries in longhand. Heaven forbid I adhere to tradition, after all.
Things have been quiet of late, after several tense weeks revolving around
Buffy's search for the vampire known as
Stone. I had feared she would become reckless and bent on revenge following Stone's attack on
Riley, but she kept her head and wits about her. I was most impressed.
Work at the school has been interesting, to say the least. After several years away from the everyday grind of being a high school librarian, I've found returning to the job has been both rewarding and hectic. Especially during mid-terms and term paper periods, when the students suddenly decide to make an effort to complete their assignments.
It's also been an adjustment to not having Buffy and
the others as regular visitors during school hours, as they so often did before they graduated. I see
Dawn somewhat frequently, but never for what Buffy would call "work stuff."
Different times, I suppose.
I must confess to a slight sense of dread that's been building over the last few weeks. I've attributed the cause of such feelings to Stone's unresolved status, as well as the fact that Sunnydale hasn't had a major crisis in quite some time. When dealing with a Hellmouth, you learn that the longer something stays dormant, the larger and more violent the eruption later on.
I feel something is coming. The quiet cannot hold for long. Something has to give.
I only hope we'll be up for the challenge when it does.
