I come back to this journal only to mention the scraps it seems. I haven't been able to write online comfortably again just yet but I'm kind of excited because of the money I've been able to save. I make an extra 600 dollars in tips in just one week added to my paycheck (which isn't bad in itself), well that's if the weather remains cold as it has ( Read more... )

I always wanted to live in NYC for a year, but soon came to the realization that I couldn't afford it and if I would, I would live in a shitty apartment.
Too bad that real life isn't like Sex and the City. There was an article in the paper a long time ago where they added Carries expenses and her salary and they found out that she could never lead that life ad shown in the series.
But it is still cool to dream about it.

I've heard about that article. Hers was the city life here in which I fantasized about having for a very long time -- writer with a fabulous apartment and an obscene amount of clothes & shoes! I like material things and big cities but I like less pretentious people and earthier places better. I'm becoming fairly acquainted with the kind of people who live a successful NYC lifestyle and it turns out that I don't like many of them very much.

I like being superficial sometimes, so I know I'd be utterly fascinated with seeing those people. Your tips sound very nice!
