Time slips away
By the time I could grasp onto one tiny minute
You were gone
Lost somewhere to the morning sun
Left behind I tried to find you
Looking inbetween the night and the day
Tracing over every word you wrote
Desperately grasping for any sign
For any possiblity that I could reach you
Pain weighs heavily on my ghost
Trapped in an invisible cage
And shackled to the anger of loss
Time does not heal all wounds
Sometimes it infects them
Causing them to fester
Ashes to ashes
That is all that is left of you now
And I'm left clinging to an idea
An impracticable hope
That you still exist somewhere...
Somewhere, inbetween.
