so back in 1993 KVSC 88.1FM (the St. Cloud college station i listened to religiously) was having one of their quarterly pledge drives. of the different pledge levels, $100 was one of the highest* and that donation would get you a day of basically directing programming at the station. you could dictate the playlists and things of that nature around the news programs and such. well, someone did donate that much money and wanted a whole day dedicated to ... The Cure. so yeah, 12+ hours of nothing but The Cure, and where they normally broadcast the featured artist spotlight at 11pm, they played a Cure concert in its entirety. i listened a goodly portion of the day, and it kinda messes you up hearing that much Fat Bob &co. for so many hours...

KVSC ceased this pledge benefit after that.

* with $100 being a lot of money back then (especially in semi-rural Minnesota)... nowadays, a $100 pledge to, like, KEXP barely gets you a t-shirt
