. . . This is quite awful to do. Quite cruel actually, to have to pick a favorite couple. How can this be possible? It's like asking a parent of whom of their beloved children, born from the melding of chromosomes of both yours and your significant other, is more loved. Cruel I tell you! A dirty fangirl does not have one fave pairing; she has several. Alas, I don't remember any significant one and so, off I go to explore my extensive collection of yaoi and pick one. Dammit.
Aight, I've picked one! Out of the several pairings that can exist in the yaoi universe, I prefer those that involve the yakuza. Ya know, the whole tattooed men and suits and guns and stuff. Yesssss . . . In any case, the one pairing that immediately jumps to me (because it's the first thing listed on my folder, hm) involves Yamamoto Takeshi and Hibari Kyoya from the manga series Katekyo Hitman Reborn.
The pairing doesn't exist in the Reborn universe and probably sprouted from the highly creative minds of fangirls who probably noticed that they looked at each other more than 2 panels and so, by the powers invested in fangirls, this pairing was born. Actually my fave pairing from Reborn would have to be Yamamoto x Gokudera but the Yamamoto x Hibari pairing done by Yoneda Kou stole my heart completely.
I love how she captures their characters, the happy go lucky Yamamoto and the deathly straight laced Hibari, and having them interact in such an adorable way, making you believe that this pairing is possible. I love how she portrays Hibari as this prickly person who is completely unapproachable and willing to maim you if you dare to touch him and has Yamamoto, the maybe oblivious dude, try to get under his skin. Sometimes it works and there's yummy sex and sometimes it results in Yamamoto sporting a head wound. It's obvious that Yamamoto is smitten with Hibari, sporting head wounds from frequent attempts to get closer but Hibari doesn't express emotions quite so easily. Most of the time, he's pushing Yamamoto aside but when we least expect it, Hibari lets him in, though rather in a begrudging manner. Oh, Hibari, you tsundere you!
Sadly, there hasn't been any doujin of this pairing from Yoneda for quite a while now but her manga, omg, her manga/illustrations are delish!
