Wake Up, Get Up, Get Out There.

I'm playing Persona 5 Strikers! I initially didn't plan to get this spinoff because I thought from the title that it was a baseball game. It is definitely not a baseball game.

Here are my notes so far! I've just cleared the second Jail.

That opening! Joker's so stylish.

It's very disconcerting to go straight from one game to another that's similar but not quite the same. I'm very conscious of all the differences. I keep pressing the wrong buttons because the controls have changed.

'Welp, see you tomorrow, Rei. Y'know... it was nice talkin' after so long.' I love how sincere and open Ryuji is about the fact that he adores us. (I also enjoyed him putting his arm around our shoulders the moment we were reunited.)

I'm loving all these remixes of the original game's battle music.

Futaba awkwardly introducing herself to Sophia is delightful.

After Sophia just being very sweet and earnest and helpful, I enjoyed it when she went 'murder is okay' and everyone went 'uh, what?'

I like that, rather than forcibly changing Alice's behaviour by taking her heart, Ann persuades her to change by approaching her with understanding and compassion.

Good to be on a roadtrip with this collection of misfits! (I would also enjoy an AU where Akechi comes on the roadtrip and hates every moment of it.)

'Yo, back off, dude. Can't you see you're makin' her uncomfortable?' Ryuji's characterisation could be very variable in Persona 5, and I wasn't sure what it would be like in this game; I'm glad that, so far, we're getting the characterisation of him as a passionate kid who cares about how people are treated, rather than as uncomfortably horny.

I love Ann abusing the request system so we'll bring her desserts. I ended up playing past my planned stopping point for the session because I was so invested in making sure she got a parfait.

I'm so pleased that, in the Jail that casts us as 'chosen heroes', you can make Joker play into the role like a big nerd.

Running around after Natsume confessed to his plagiarism, I overheard someone saying, 'I hope he doesn't give up. I'd like to read another book of his,' and I'm oddly touched.

I'm glad to be having another adventure with all these weird kids!
