The Theme Of This Entry Is 'Riona Shouldn't Be Allowed To Make Entries'.

From the article in which Derren Brown very quietly came out in September 2007:

You should always come out; life is so much easier. People generally aren't as bothered by your intimate secrets as you are. It took me being in a relationship with a guy for a month before I told anyone I was thus inclined.I probably shouldn't, but I really, really ( Read more... )

I'm sort of with amy_wolf here; I've so far resisted writing any coming-out fic at all, because it's a little too close to home and I fear I'd end up sounding whiny and dogmatic. (Not, again, that my experience was so very traumatic in the grand scheme of all comings-out ever; it's more a worry that I'd sound cheesy than a worry that I'd COLLAPSE FROM THE PAIN.)

I don't actually know who the Jonas brothers are. (And I'm okay with that, I hasten to add.)

I haven't told you how I was in Leicester Square on the night of the UK premiere of 17 Again, have I? I had to fight my way through a crowd of screaming Zac Efron fans. It was...mildly surreal.

That's it! I don't have Epic Trauma. It'd just sort of awkward and dorky and tedious and possibly whiny. But Derren Brown fans seem to like awkward and dorky, so there's that.

As Derren is a bit awkward and dorky when he's not making television programmes, it makes sense!

What are you doing up at this hour, young lady?

I can understand not writing about something you've experienced for fear that your own experience will leak in too much. Then again, I think personal experience could also have the potential to enhance writing. (So you should still write it, amy_wolf.)

(EDIT: I am not sure whether you mean you are thinking about whether to write it or not! If you are, you should. Everyone should. There should be many, many fics about Derren Brown's crisis of sexuality.)

I would advise you to remain in your state of Jonas-related ignorance. (Possibly with the exception of watching the SOS dance, because it is hilarious.)

Oh, dear. I wouldn't wish a crowd of screaming Zac Efron fans upon anyone. I am glad you managed to escape!

We're all going to write it, aren't we? We're all going to write it and it will be all Riona's fault.

I cannot deny that this is the plan.

Psst! You should write it.

WHAT AN UNEXPECTED RESPONSE. I cannot help it if I am predictable.

But you should definitely write it.

I can forgive you for not involving fictional boyfriends, because the news of any potential Derren Brown fanfiction from you thrills me to bits.

I will be slightly alarmed if you make Dawkins Derren's non-fictional boyfriend, though.
