There was originally a paragraph here whining about my Tuesday schedule (long story short: my combined waking time before leaving for university in the morning and after returning in the evening? Even though I wake up at seven? Three and a half hours. My Tuesday semesters are completely awesome, but still), but I deleted it because it was boring. ( Read more... )

I have had way plottier dreams than this. Here is one!

It was like an actual sci-fi novel. In my head. With like, this country that was split into three parts: two large mainland areas and a small, floating island. And the island was way more technologically advanced, and the scientists there were creating some kind of massive beam which rose up out of the water between the island and the mainland and, when fired through a giant crystal, would instantly improve the living quality of the mainland areas. Except that some bad guys got a hold of the beam, and fired it directly at one of the mainland areas, causing utter destruction and basically blowing up the whole place.

All the people on the island went into this amazing phase of instant mourning, and there were all these different races mourning in different ways - these cloaked creatures were all prostrate at the edge of this cliff while one of them just stood and wailed. And then they all realised that the dust from the destruction of the mainland was so dense that when it reached them, it would probably suffocate them all. All the islanders tried to get inside, but the buildings had been sealed off by a force-field in order to allow scientists to try and perfect the beam and fix the damage. So there was a mad rush to try and find breathing equipment and get it to all the little children, even though it was so dark and nobody could see or breathe properly.

Then the beam started up again, and everyone thought that the other area of mainland was going to be destroyed, but the beam shot out this crazy rainbow of colours, which hit the giant crystal and filtered all over the other mainland, and all these incredible buildings grew up, and suddenly everyone knew that it had made their society better, more equal, and everyone started crying and celebrating.
