Or Should It Be HAIROES?
I returned to my university lodgings today to find a postcard from draegonhawke waiting for me. It was all about the glorious friendship between the Master and Mewtwo, and it a) made me smile a lot and b) set me to musing about The Perfect Pokémon For Characters In My Fandoms.
This is something I've thought about before, and the only real conclusion I've come to is that Richard Hammond would definitely have a Vulpix, because it is small and cute and can breathe fire (YES, OF COURSE RICHARD HAMMOND CAN BREATHE FIRE, SHUT UP. Actually, he could have a Growlithe, couldn't he?). I think that an Onix would suit Jeremy Clarkson very much; it is gigantic and destructive and looks sort of like him (well, I think so). James May is more difficult, but I think he might have a Magikarp, because it requires lots of tedious training up before it becomes remotely useful. You know he'd be all for that.
Other fandoms! I imagine JD would have an Eevee, because, er, it's adorable and fluffy. Also, if I recall correctly, it goes 'eeeee', much like JD when he is fanboying over Dr. Cox. (Well, all right, I don't recall him actually going 'eeeee', but I wouldn't be surprised if he did.) The Master and Mewtwo being partners in crime is absolutely marvellous, but if the Master actually owned a Pokémon I am convinced that he would have a Jigglypuff, because he would love the deceptivity (IT'S A WORD NOW) of a powerful weapon being disguised as an innocent lullaby from a wide-eyed pink puffball creature.
