fun in southern md!
did anyone think that fun and southern md would be in the same phrase?!?! Just kidding around Jill :)
Went to my sister's for the weekend and had lost of fun with her and Tom! Headed down on Friday and beat all the traffic and even beat Jill home from work! We went out to dinner for some yummy seafood and some good conversation. My brother in law was cracking me up with his jokes. Who knew he had it in him?!?! We wanted to go out on the boat this weekend but the weather was pretty rainy. So we opted for some fun shopping in Arlington/Alexandria VA, just across the river from Jill's, and then I tried out some new recipes for dinner. Here are my rankings:
1) Pancetta and Pea Risotto - AWESOME (a little less wine probably)
2) Toasted Bread Crumb Pasta - GREAT (definitely a light pasta dish)
3) Peas with Prosciutto - YUMMY
4) Stuffed Peppers in the Crockpot - GOOD (they got a little too soft though)
Overall, not too shabby....and I think Jill will be eating leftovers for a week. You should make some mini meals Jill!
Sunday Jill and I ran errands and went to go get manicures to celebrate her one month of not biting her nails. Wahoo! All was going well, except Jill got a bad manicurist and did a shotty job on her nails and was a little nasty. I felt so bad. It was supposed to be such a joyous occasion! Dumb nail lady. Oh well, we didn't let it bring our day down.
Summer enrichment is officially over and went VERY well. The performances were great, the parents loved it, and I ate way too many baked goods at the receptions afterwards. The next music theater camp is the first week of August, and I am still waiting to hear back if it is cancelled or not, due to lack of enrollment. Cross your fingers!
This week is my one week (get it done!) graduate class. I am taking a choral conducting elective at Towson, and it is Monday through Friday 9-4. Talk about high intensive, but you get a class done in one week. The freakin books are expensive though! About 230 bucks!! Ouch!!! I am not too pleased about that.
Anywho, I better get my butt to bed! I am so used to staying up late and being carefree. Its back to school (as a student!) for me.
