Summary
The first episode is a bit back and forth, so I'm not entirely sure what's going on. We know that Chrome and Chalce appear to be brothers, fighting against the military from the neighboring country. Chalce takes off in his plane without Chrome. After 6 months of fighting, the countries have signed a peace treaty, but seem to be secretly fighting anyway. All the labs are locked up where Artificial Soldiers are grown to fight the wars. They aren't treated like people because they're grown in a lab, but biologically they're the same as humans (I think).
We're then introduced to Agate, who's on a plane (but in Cargo because he couldn't afford a better ticket) and is on his way to Cluster EA a very prestigious school that he was accepted into. He also runs into Beryl Jasper, a boy from a very rich family who's also to be attending the school. Beryl doesn't seem to pleased with everyone's preoccupation with his family. The train has to stop because the military is having some activity in the area. Agate hears over his radio that they plan to attack the Harbor. He loads up
on his plane (which was being carried in cargo) and takes off to try and stop them. It's at the harbor that he seems Chalce under attack. He tries to help Chalce land but the planes are firing at his plane also, despite that it's civilian. Somehow, Agate starts to glow a bright yellow, and it protects them from the enemy fire. They still end up being shot down into the ocean, and Agate seems disappointed in Chalce's lack of ability.
Beryl comes to a bar full of military men. The entire nature of the incident is being kept underwraps. Beryl attacks one of the men with a sharp dart and holds him there until he tells them what happened to the pilot (Agate). The man states that the pilots both died. Somehow, Agate did survive and managed to pull Chalce to shore.
