Yes, after a series of movie reviews, I've decided to jump back to my BB cream reviews. This time I'm going to do two reviews on two BRTC BB creams I've tried some time ago.
First up...
Product Name: BRTC Jasmine Water BB Cream SPF30 PA++
Jasmine Water BB Cream is a triple function cover cream with whitening, wrinkle repair and sun block functions. It provide good moisture, promotes skin elasticity and acts as an excellent coverage for skin imperfections for a radiant, fairer and natural complexion.
Price: $49.00 / 40ml
Shade: 1 shade only, slightly greyish undertone, should suit most yellow or pink undertone girls.
Coverage: Mid to full coverage. Covers pores well, but unable to fully conceal obvious blemishes.
Texture: Neither too thick nor too watery. Very easy to spread and blends very well into the skin. May feel a little oily/sticky during blending, perhaps due to SPF30, but the stickiness will wear off upon setting.
Finish: More towards a slight dewy finish.
Fragrance: A very 'quiet' scent. If you didn't specially smell it you probably wouldn't notice the slight jasmine scent. Nothing unbearable nor unpleasant, unless you dislike the smell of jasmine. Even so, the smell shouldn't be strong enough to put you off.
Comments: As I've said, this bb cream gives quite a good coverage especially in terms of pore coverage. It blends fairly well into my skin, concealing the rather obvious big pores I have around my upper cheeks. However, the coverage is not heavy enough to conceals my pimple marks and I have to dab on a considerable amount of concealer for that. My face still oiled up after a couple of hours and I had to blot during mid-day. I noticed that a slight amount of the cream was blotted off at the tip of my nose, where my skin is always the oiliest.
Product Name: BRTC Protect Multiplex Balm BB Cream SPF20 PA++
Protect Multiplex Balm is an effective multi-benefit cover balm which protects your skin from harmful UV-rays thus preventing premature aging and darkened skin. It acts as a natural coverage for uneven skin texture and blemishes and also has whitening & wrinkle repair functions. This wonder balm contains 3 patented ingredients of EMX-Water, Vita Extract and Na-Complex which promote a healthier, fairer and radiant skin.
Price: $59.00 for 50ml
Shade: Grey undertone
Coverage: Mid coverage.
Texture: The cream itself is VERY thick, but it spreads relatively easily and blends fairly well.
Finish: More towards a matte finish, I would say.
Fragrance: Wouldn't really name it a 'fragrance' actually. I'll describe it as a weird rubbery pepperminty smell.
Comments: I got a shock when I first squeezed out the product onto the back of my hand. (I always squeeze out the cream onto the back of my hand, spread it out a little before dabbing it onto my face) It is so much thicker as compared to BRTC Jasmine Water, and many other BB creams I've tried till date. The tone is also slighly more greyish as compared to Jasmine Water. The slight smell is also less pleasant as compared to the latter. However, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried to spread it onto my face. Even though it has such a thick texture, it spreads relatively easily and blends well into my skin tone. However, its coverage is really lacking as compared to many other bb creams as i realised that it couldn't even cover the slightest discolouration on my face(even when it has such thick texture). Pore coverage is merely decent(I've seen better). Oil control is average, as I still have to blot my face during midday even though I'm using an oil control matte pressed powder. Good thing is that it doesnt really come off while I blot. Other than that, nothing exceptional about this product. I'd rather spend on Jasmine Water as compared to this one.
