book recommendations

x-posting to my religious journal.

So, I checked out a local vintage shop and they had quite a few books I was looking at, but wasn't sure to purchase. Truth be told I'm skeptical of anything dealing with theology or mythology, since they're either so out of date its not funny, or just simply re-hashing of myths I already know. So I'm coming to you, f-list, in hopes that someone has heard of these books, or read them, and knows what they're about.

It's a bit of an eclectic bunch too. Also, I mostly only got to write down the last names of the authors, since I was in a bit of a hurry.

Women of Mythology by Retzlaff
The Feminine in Fairytales by Von Franz
The Science of Folklore by Krappe
Black Song: The Forge and the Flame by Lovell
Plato Lives (I didn't catch the translator. Think it started with a D though)
In Search of the Lost Feminine by Barnes
Thespis: Ritual, Myth and Drama in the Ancient Near East by Gather
After the Black Death by Huppert
Deities and Demons of the Far East by Katz

Any bit helps, really, including "that author is a lunatic". :)
