Our third project in Illus B was due today, which meant I pulled another all nighter for it, naturally.
By the end of it I was alright with it, but not terribly pleased.
But when I put it up next to the others I realized it was horrible and I didn't get into it at all, like I wasn't really interested in my subject matter or the marks I was making.
So I was mad at myself because I know I could've done a lot better and George totally knew that too.
Now that I think about it, WHAT THE HELL WAS I THINKING?!
AUGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH~
The same thing happened in Illus A last semester.
Towards the middle I completely lost interest in projects and did kinda badly (for me anyway).
Well, one of them was affected by Y-con, but the one after that was just a lack of confidence in my work.
I may be slipping back into the "geez, I have no talent and I'm barely keeping up compared to the other kids" mentality again, arghhh.
Stupid emo me... I need to do something about it.
Anyway, now that's over with, I'm excited for our next two assignments.
I already have an idea for the t-shirt design so it should be fun.
The eyes project should be fun too; right now I'm thinking movies, animals, and whatever else will go with my theme or something but I mustn't forget to make the composition really look nice this time.
And I understand how to handle the paint better too thanks to the shitty project I turned in today.
Bring it on, I say.
Lol, today I told Kenny that he might beat Jeff's grade but definitely not Erik's.
I said he was aiming too high.
Umm, Kenny also told us his hen's names today after two weeks of making us guess...
We also made geek-talk with Erik about Battlestar and X-Men and the Marvel Universe etc.
Alex came by to hang out too and showed us and Jamie some of Ashley Wood's art books, which are super awesome, ahhh~<3
(Jamie's going to the LA Zoo with her class on Friday! No fair! TAT)
We also told Alex about our trip to Wizard World LA on Saturday.
Erik hooked Jonathan, Nee, Dani and I with free passes his friend had.
It was Comic Con but ten times smaller.
You could see the ends of the hall!
Anyway, crazy awesome artists were there including Greg Horn!
He's my hero for doing the best Emma Frost illustrations ever!
It's funny too because I was just at his site earlier last week.
I was too shy to go talk to him though. Not worthy. ^_^;
Nee bought a print and Dani bought a cartoonist's art book that had a gesture drawing of Richard in it.<3
Changing topics...
Busy workpile week ahead!
- Finish Rendering Still Life Ink project
- Prep Costumed Figure Portfolio
