Ready for the weekend

Jun 24, 2011 12:07

No plans beyond writing, reading, watching baseball (Rockies vs. Yankees all weekend! Could it get better than my two favorite teams going at it?), and sleeping.

Hopefully there will be no cookouts. Even more hopeful that it will be rainy and overcast, because all this happy, perky summertime is starting to get on my nerves.

(Although it's not as bad as yesterday when a persistent headache had me telling all the chirpy crickets, birds, and chipmunks to STFU already.)

Summer was such a long time getting here this year, I was kind of hoping it would skip us altogether and we'd just slide right into autumn. Because six solid months of fall, June - November? :sigh: Heaven!

Alas, it was not to be. :(

Got a kick out of this piece at Comics Alliance, speculating on a My Two Dads scenario, My Two Bat-Dads.

Now I have no idea who this Hitman guy is, he must be since my time, but he sounds kind of interesting, and would certainly make quite the contrast with Superman.

A little while ago, fanfromfla, while exploring her new Martin Shaw love, came up with a fairly recent series he's done, Apparitions, where he plays an exorcist. This sounded intriguing to me and in her usual generosity she made it possible for me to watch it too -- and I'm not entirely sure if I'm grateful, *g*, since the first episode has creeped me out big time.

Watching some more of that, with the lights on this time, will likely also occur this weekend. (After which I might actually be happy to go bask in the sunshine. LOL)

Also courtesy of fanfromfla -- and recently relocated after getting mixed up in a drawer with a bunch of other stuff: The Rediscovered Railway Mysteries, four 'new' Sherlock Holmes stories, with Benedict Cumberbatch narrating them as Dr. Watson. I've only listened to the first one so far, but enjoyed it, and now I really want to watch those BBC Sherlock episodes to see if maybe they will click with me a bit more.
