I got tired of just waiting around and not having anything to do, after spending all of my time working for the government and living by a strict schedule, having time to myself was foreign and I didn't like it at all. It was time to take matters into my own hands. We had always had a stash of weapons in the house, just in case The Iniative had gone under attack and we needed to defend ourselves. I went downstairs into the living room and started tapping on the floor to see which one's had been hollowed out. I found it, I took the screwdriver out from my pocket and pulled the floorboard out and moved it to the side. Just what I was looking for, my very own arsenal of weapons.

I pulled out a couple of automatic machine guns, three pistols, a knife, magazines and clips, a high-powered rifle, and a taser. I grabbed my bulletproof vest from the back of the chair and slipped it on, tucking away the weapons in their holsters. I reached and checked to make sure that everything was where it was supposed to be.

I walked out of the living room towards the door, passing the hallway with pictures from the wedding and pictures of Sam and I. I couldn't help but feel the emotions, "This is for you, Sam." I said softly as I opened the door and started on my way. I had been tracking a group of hostiles for a week or so, and I knew where they were staying and when they normally went out. I hiked along the woods and found a tree and looked up at it, it was going to be difficult with all this gear on.

I took my vest off and unloaded the guns from my waist and then slung the rifle over my arm as I climbed up the tree. I used the scope to see down towards where the opening to the cave was. I loaded the rifle and waited, about 20 minutes later, I saw movement and a creature emerge from the cave. I had him in my cross-hairs, and then waited and fired, hitting him right between the eyes. He fell to his knees and then face first into the dirt with a thud.

I climbed down the tree and then picked up my stuff, as I was putting my vest on, I was attacked from the back, making me lunge forward and hit a tree. I turned, and saw another hostile who wasn't very happy, I reached for my pistol and pulled it out and fired off an entire round as I grabbed a new clip to reload. The hostile charged me and started fighting me, I put up my fists and tried fighting back, but being human, I wasn't doing to well. I felt multiple hits to my stomach and then one last blow that knocked me back 15 feet until I hit another tree and slid down until I was slumped at the base. The hostile was walking up and talking in some weird demonic language as I spit out some blood and tried to get up, but I couldn't, I looked and saw that a few ribs were jutting out at odd places, it was getting harder to breathe.

I heard a gunshot and the creature fell to its knees and then fell forward. I tried to see who had fired the shot, then saw a group of Soldiers approaching, then saw one of them run towards me.

"Finn...what the hell are you doing out here?" He asked...his voice, it sounded familiar, I struggled and opened my eyes to see Graham looking down at me. "I NEED A MEDIC! Right now! Get me a damn medic!" He shouted. He pulled his walkie-talkie out, "Man down...I repeat man-down. Get a doc STAT!" He shouted as he tried to help me out.

I let out a scream in agony. "Look at you, being all Mr. Hero." I said, coughing out more blood and talking hoarse, the voice was foreign to me.

"Well somebody had to pick up the slack, just hang on Riley. We'll get you out of here. Just don't try and talk anymore." He said as I closed my eyes, and tried not to breathe.

There she was, looking as beautiful as ever. Her petite figure the blonde hair flowing over her shoulders, wearing a dress and waiting for me. I had told her we were going on a picnic, but seeing her dressed nice and when she did the spin to see if I approved, the last thing I had on my mind was a picnic, but I took her hand and kissed her softly before I grabbed the basket. We walked towards the field where we sat under a big oak tree, and everything was perfect. "Riley, it's always been you." She said as we laid together watching the people walk by and play frisbee. I could get lost in her eyes. "I love you, Buffy."

I slowly tried to open my eyes but then shut them immediatly the artificial light was too bright. I then let them re-adjust slowly and looked around, I was back in the infirmary. Great, just great. Another court-martial for breaking the last one. I thought, mentally kicking myself for getting caught.

Graham knocked on the door and walked in. "Your awake, long time no see soldier." He said half-teasingly. "Well I guess I should start saluting you know, huh?" I countered. "Because me getting caught, probably means that you got promoted to have your own team, and in that case, congratulations. Treat your boys good." I said, moving a bit but then realizing that it hurt; so I laid there, not moving.

Graham smiled, "Yeah, something like that. You have made a couple of people pretty bad Riley, but that's not the point. The doctor says that you'll be out of here in a couple of days, he just wants to make sure that you rest and don't move. So is there anything that I can do for you?" He asked.

Graham, always being the good soldier that he was, checking up on his fellow brother. Then he asked if there was something I wanted...there was...her, Buffy. I wanted Buffy.

"Actually, if I'm stuck here, I want you to trak someone down for me, think you can do that?" I asked

"Of course; that's easy. Give me a name." He said.

"Buffy Summers." I said, waiting to see his reaction.

Graham put his hands up, "Whoa, easy Finn, did you just say Buffy? As in the slayer who screwed with you?" I nodded my head. "Why? What the hell does that broad have that could possibly make you want to find her?"

"Hey...watch it Graham, or else I'm going to have to get up and kick your ass, keep that ego of yours in check." I took a deep breathe. "Graham, please, I just have to see her again."

"Why? She didn't choose you? Remember? She never showed up; she doesn't give a shit Riley."

"You don't know her Graham; there's just something about her. I just want to see her, have a conversation with her. Think you can do it? Please, for me?" I asked. If he wouldn't I would do it myself.

"Fine, only because I don't want you doing it, and I know how stubborn you are. I'll give a print-up tomorrow with everything I find. You owe me." He said as he walked out and closed the door behind him.

"I love you Buffy." I said softly.
