cnidaria_jin because she such a nice girl and I want to write something for her (^ ^). Suddenly the idea popped when I helped my mom in the kitchen. I was tweeting with her before lol. DD, forgive me if the story turn to be that bad (>////<)!
“KAMEEE NOOOO!!!” Jin shouted instantaneously and quickly dragged the young man stayed away from his room.
Kazuya gazed at Jin, sending some suspicious glare to the latter while pouted hugely. Arms crossed in front of his chest. “But I want to take my book that you borrow from me. I need it right now! Pronto!”
“Fine! I’ll take it for you now!” Jin exclaimed. He walked toward the bedroom while sometimes turned around to make it sure that Kazuya stayed rooted on his place.
“Don’t look!” The older boy warned.
“I am not!” Kazuya snapped back and had to roll his eyes seeing how weird Jin was. Many assumptions crossed on his mind.
What exactly Jin’s secret was? Why he never let him as his best friend enter the room even just for a brief second? Maybe the older man’s room was extremely messy just as hit by the storm. Jin might embarrassed because of it. But seriously, messy for almost all the time since the first time he visited Jin’s apartment? Even so Jin’s apartment was already all terrible, it should be no need for Jin to hide such a thing. Kazuya doubt it now.
“Here.” Jin extended his arm, surprised the younger from his trail of thoughts. Kazuya while sulking took his book and mumbled his halfhearted gratitude.
In spite of curiosity that almost killed him, there was an invisible light bulb that suddenly lighted up above his head. He should solve it, his patience already near the edge and with whatever way he’ll take he should know the truth. Kazuya turned around and smiled sweetly to the latter. Jin instantly frowned seeing Kazuya as it was weird when Kazuya act all cute toward Jin.
“Ne Jin... need a hand to cleaning your place?” Kazuya asked. Wide smile stamped on his face and he entangled his fingers in a cute manner and stood semi-tiptoeing.
“Eh? Really?” Jin beamed because of the offer but he sounded unsure. It was rare having someone willingly help him clean his super untidy apartment. Especially Kazuya. Mostly the young man will acted as a boss, commanded him to clean the apartment and stated how he hated a messy and dirty room as he certainly a cleanness freak.
Kazuya quickly nodded, looking as he really certain and sincere with his offer tho to tell the truth it was not. Nah Jin, just wait. While pretending himself cleaning the older place, he will sneak into the latter’s room and find out what precisely Jin’s secret is. Time to reveal the truth!
So with an excessive excitement, Kazuya strode to grab the vacuum cleaner with a sly grin wider and wider drew on his face when he kept repeating on his head how Jin’s secret would be on his hand soon.
But...
“Kame, wait!” Jin suddenly gripped his wrist, stopped the smaller boy on his track. “Stay away from my bedroom. I’ll clean it by myself.”
Jin kited to his room as quick as lightning without bothering Kazuya’s disapproval, made the younger swore in annoyed tone as his plan was successfully failed. He could tell that he heard Jin locked the door which means it quite impossible to sneak inside. And now he should cleaning the unbelievable messiness right before his eyes without getting what he wanted.
What a luck.
---
Kazuya entered the apartment with a white bag on his right and a brown bag on his left. He quickly placed the bags on the dining table, freeing himself from the weight that he carried almost half an hour.
“Here is your food, Jin!” Kazuya shouted. He made it all due to Jin’s request last night but he didn’t have any idea why the older asked him to. Jin swiftly cut the line before Kazuya could ask the reason.
“Thank you, Kame!” Jin shouted back from the kitchen to reply. He currently busy with the juice that he made.
Kazuya strode to the kitchen, watched Jin with his lack of handiness put into the blender some strawberries. “Why you asked me to bring some homemade dishes?”
“Rina will come today...” Jin answered sounded unclear as he was stirred with his activity. Nevertheless Kazuya got it, frowned as he tried to remember someone who’s named Rina. “Her parents asked me to take care of her. Ne, you’ll help me right?” The taller man currently poured the strawberry juice into the glasses.
“Rina?” Kazuya still managed to recall his memory about this Rina-girl while helped Jin wiped some stain on the table also the splash of red liquid the latter created when he made the juice. “Is it your cousin, Akanishi Rina?”
“Yes, she is. It’s been so long since the last time you met her. She became more beautiful just like her mother although she is a six years old girl. Don’t be surprise.”
The figure of a little girl with her adorable smile, hair styled with twin tails and nuzzled on Jin’s crook while Jin carried her all the way cling on the smaller boy’s mind. Jin introduced her as Akanishi Rina, his only cousin, one and a half years ago. She was shy back then but ended up acted all spoiled to him.
“I wonder maybe I’ll marry her if she’s not that young.” The younger chuckled. On a brief moment before Rina leaved Kazuya, she was cried out loud before she proposed the younger straightforwardly because she didn’t want to leave Kazuya. It was an amusing memory.
“-You what?!” Jin shrieked, almost choked by his juice. “I will never let her marry you. She is... she is too innocent. She is... young... the gate of future still open widely for her. A-and I didn’t want you to be-”
“Jin! It’s just a joke, okay? So stop acting stupid like this!” Kazuya cut off Jin. What a response was that? Jin is being weirder and weirder day by day. Who was him? Rina’s father?
Jin let out a silly laugh and seems glad as Kazuya saw the latter sighed in relieve. The expression made Kazuya smiled bitterly. First Jin never let him entered his bedroom, keeping it as a huge secret tho Kazuya was Jin’s best friend. Second he seems so relieve when Kazuya said that he was not serious with what he said about marrying the girl. Why should Jin became that relieve? He wasn’t a plague which could contaminated Rina. Jin seems took it seriously.
A bell sound distracted the brown-haired boy from his thought. Jin already ran to welcome the guess. When the door opened, Rina stood with a wide smile, holding her mother’s hand. She look extremely cute with her twin tails and flower dress, carried a teddy bear carelessly till it almost swept the floor on his left hand.
“Jinnnn!” She exclaimed. Jin hurriedly hugged the little girl which welcomed it with a beaming smile.
“Rina-chan, where’s your manner? Okaasan already taught you if it’s bad to call Jin-oniichan by his given name only.”
Rina pouted hugely, hid her face on Jin’s neck.
“It’s okay Obasan. I prefer Rina called me Jin. I myself who asked her.”
Rina darted out her tongue to her mother and quickly hid her face on the older man’s neck again when she saw her mother eyed her angrily, ready to scold her once again. “Okay whatever...” Rina’s mother shrugged, tired to warn her daughter. “Take care of her, ne Jin? I’ll be back tonight.”
“Ne... say good bye to Okaasan...” Jin whispered to the little girl.
“Bye bye...” Rina waved her hand. She got her smile back on her face.
After Rina’s mother leaved, Kazuya decided to greet the little girl. He observed the girl first, gazed intensely with a warm face and Rina just stared at him confusedly. The beautiful face of Rina seems even cuter in her bewilderment.
“Ohayou Rina-chan. Hisashiburi...”
Rina weakly said “Ohayou...” but still had no idea who Kazuya was.
“You forget about him? He is Kazuya-niichan, you met him long time ago. You loved him so much back then, even didn’t care about me when you had Kazuya-niichan around.” Jin explained.
“Ah... oujichama?!” Rina said happily. She clapped her hands enthusiastically as she congratulated herself for remembering the younger man. Kazuya smiled shyly.
“You remember him as oujisama?” Jin chuckled. He had no idea why Rina regarded Kazuya as a prince the time he introduced Kazuya to her. More surprisingly after Rina had not meet Kazuya for a long time, she still called him oujisama or oujichama for more exact. Children’s mind is hard to understand.
“He is Kazuya-oujichama not Kazuya-niichan. Oujichama was so nice unlike you...”
Whiningly, Jin tickled Rina’s waist and made the little girl laughed hysterically, loosely dropped the poor teddy bear on the floor.
“Haii... haiii... Jin, I’m sorry! You’re the best... stop!” Rina apologized between his laughed.
“Nah... that’s my girl...”
Seeing the scene, Kazuya couldn’t help to chuckle. It was so nice seeing Jin and Rina. The older could be totally different every time he’s around with child, especially Rina.
“Ne Jin, why you’re not ask her to have a breakfast? Maybe she was not eat anything yet because her mother seems hurried before.”
“You’re right.” Jin agreed. “Rinyan, want to eat something? Kazuya-niichan made special dishes for you.”
Rina quickly nodded and Jin putted her down on the floor, commanded her heading toward dining table and had a strawberry juice.
“Rinyan?” Kazuya commented. “What the hell is that? You once called her Rinacchin, now you change it again to be Rinyan.”
“But Rina is cute. Like a kitten...” Jin protested.
“I know you have a girly side deep inside of you. And don’t worry, I’m not going to tell anyone. Furthermore it was not a secret anymore, I guess it will be pointless.”
“I am not! You even cooked better than me.”
“Able to cook doesn’t mean that I’m girly. It means I’m independent, someone that people could rely on.” Kazuya defended himself.
“Independent is my middle name. Girly is yours.” Jin said smugly that made Kazuya had an urge to roll his eyes.
“I know Jin. That’s why yesterday I cleaned your unbelievable tidy room till all of my body felt stiff.”
“Kameeeee!” Jin whined.
“You even screamed girly.” Teased the younger one.
“I am not-“
“-I’M HUNGRY JIN!” The poor little girl shouted, sat impatiently on the chair while pouted hugely as her cousin and her oujisama kept arguing with each other. Her glass already empty as she sipped her juice in one gulped.
“Sorry Rinyan...” Jin apologized and immediately prepare the food for his beloved cousin.
“What a nickname...”
“SHUT UP!”
“Should I call you Jinny?”
“Kameee!”
---
In this afternoon, Kazuya lazily took a nap on the sofa. He was so sleepy because he woke up earlier today in order to cook for Jin. Jin excused himself to buy some snacks for Rina at the nearest konbini so Kazuya decided to benefit his time at leisure. Rina currently busy drawing some pictures with her crayons, stayed quiet for a long time not even want to bothering Kazuya. In fact Kazuya didn’t hear any slightest sound from the little girl. Isn’t it weird if a children play soundlessly like this? A question suddenly popped on his mind.
Leaped from the sofa, Kazuya scanned the room and found out that the little girl was not in everywhere. Where was she? Jin will certainly kill him if something happen to Rina.
“Rina-chan...” Kazuya called out.
No answer.
“Rina!” This time he called out louder.
Kazuya with an extreme panicky observed the place with a big hope that the little girl just played hide and seek somewhere inside the apartment. “Rina-chan, where are you sweetie? Come on girl, don’t scaring me.”
The young man searched everywhere but no result. Anxiously he checked the floor door and caught it unlocked. If Rina decided to escape outside, he is dead. What if the poor little girl kidnapped by dangerous people and ended up on morning news as a victim of brutal murderer? What if someone will call her mother and asked for some redeeming money in order to release the poor girl? What if...
Relax Kazuya... Relax! Kazuya shook head, heading toward the kitchen and quickly sipped a glass of water in one gulp.
For the sake of getting some clear mind, he inhaled and exhaled, drank another glass of water and tried controlling his heart beat. He almost gave up and decided to call Jin and confess but suddenly, his eyes fixated at one sacred room that he never enter before because it was forbidden for stranger but Jin. It’s Jin’s bedroom.
Cautiously Kazuya tiptoed toward the door, tortured between his panic and his curiosity. He reached the doorknob with a slight tremble and pulled it down followed with a sound of an open door. It seems that Jin forgot to lock it because as long as he knew, Jin always leaved his room locked if he goes outside.
One step, two steps, three steps...
Kazuya lifted his head and scanned the room. He saw Rina sat on the floor and smiled widely at him when she noticed the oujisama stood in front of the door with jaw dropping and widen eyes.
Kazuya shocked. Really shocked till he unable to move. Exactly what on earth he was found out?
Not because of Rina but because the of the fact that he surrounded with a huge tons of turtle plushies collection he ever witness in his entire life. What the hell was it? How could Jin collected all this unbelievable countless of turtle plushies inside his room?
“Tadaima!” Jin greeted warmly, hands full with bags of snacks and goods.
Realized that Kazuya as well as Rina were out from his sight, he strode to check them both but stunned on his place when he saw Kazuya inside his room with the most shocked face ever that Jin ever saw, fixated at the countless of turtle plushies on the shelf, on the bed, on the table, on the chair and even on the floor. Some of them toyed by Rina happily while humming some random songs.
Jin hoped the earth will swallowed him right at the moment.
“What the hell is this, Jin?” Kazuya said, sounded like he was had a nightmare.
“Mmm... my room...?” The latter answered, clearly embarrassed.
“I mean this!” Kazuya lifted one of the plushie. “And this! And this! Also this one!” Kazuya pointed out randomly as they were too many turtle plushies surrounded the room. “I don’t know if you have a very weird hobby which is collecting turtle plushies. First, you hide it from me. I am your best friend and you never told me about this tho I don’t have any single thing I’m hiding from you. And then you acted like a fussy mother when I joked about marrying Rina. I am not a plaque, why you acted like I’m the one? Next you called Rina with totally cute nicknames like Rinyan which is very girly. Something is wrong with you, I know it!”
“It’s just... well... it’s a h-hobby. I know you’ll mock me till dead and look... it’s proved!” Jin made excuse.
“You are insane...”
“I’m not insane! Why your cold words always addressed to me?”
“A-and... and why it’s must be a turtle? There are so many that you can choose beside a turtle.” Kazuya scratched his not so itchy head and strangely he blushed and couldn’t stay still on his place, played with his fingers nervously. Jin could only stared the younger like a living question mark, puzzled with how angry Kazuya suddenly turned to be very so nervous like this.
“I mean... why turtle? Why k-kame? You know...” The continuation was died on Kazuya throat. He couldn’t asked Jin why the latter collecting turtle when his name was also “turtle”. But he couldn’t help to think some possibilities. What if Jin...
“Why turtle?” Jin repeat it again before timidly grabbed Kazuya’s hand, rendered a shade of red blushed on the shorter boy’s cheeks. “Because... it’s remind me about you.”
True then, Kazuya thought. He lowered his gaze because his cheeks blushing more.
“I’m sorry that I kept it as a secret. But... I’m afraid to tell you the truth.”
“B-because?”
“Because you always said that we are best friend. You always considered me as a friend and I couldn’t imagine what will happen if I ask for more.”
“So... I assume that you falling in love with me.”
“If I’m not, why the hell I keep all this turtle plushies inside my room. It’s... it’s kinda embarrassing. Although they are cute.”
Instantly Kazuya chuckled when he heard what Jin said. “By the way you answered it, now I doubt whether you falling in love with me or with these plushies. Seriously, although they are cute?”
“NOOOO! YOU WAY MORE CUTER!” The words slipped spontaneously and made Jin startled when he realized what just he said. “J-just... just forget about it Kame. Just think if this conversation is never exist. We could stay as best friend for ever and... and anyway, I-I already have... my plushies.”
Jin let go the younger hand and turned around, picked the turtle plushie that sprawled on the floor before wiped it feebly. His aura was clouded with the black color.
“Instead of keeping the plushies, why you’re not ask the real turtle whether he want to be keep by you or not?”
“W-what?” Asked the taller boy uncertainly. He turned back, walking closer to Kazuya. The turtle plushie already forgotten and lying on the floor. “W-what that exactly mean? Do you...”
“... I love you.”
“Ehhh?”
Kazuya pulled both of Jin’s hand so there was no space anymore between them before landed a kiss on Jin’s lips. “Was it not enough to prove that I do love you?” The younger asked once they broke the kiss.
“Un, not enough. It was too fast.” Jin innocently replied with his silly face, resulted a slapped on his head contributed by Kazuya.
After Jin sealed his lips once again on Kazuya’s in order to grant his protest about how brief the kiss was, Jin quickly moved to packed the plushies, carried it outside the room without gave a damn with the younger that questioned him why he suddenly decided to clean off his room from his own treasured turtle plushies.
When the plushies were successfully moved outside (which cover almost most all the part of his living room), Jin leaded Rina who was began to cry louder as she thought Jin will threw all the plushies on the garbage outside and gave one of the plushie to her. Jin pinched the cubby cheeks softly and caressed it. “Rinyan, the plushies now all yours.”
Both Rina and Kazuya were widen their eyes. Yet Rina because she was already drown in the imagination of having tons of plushies inside her bedroom that will kept her warm and Kazuya because he just couldn’t believe if the latter will just gave it away to his cousin. Rina ran to the sea of plushies, bathed in it and hugged some of them tightly while jumped happily.
Kazuya froze on the floor yet suddenly Jin dragged him inside the bedroom with an idiotic smile stamped on his face.
“How could you just gave it away to Rina? It was so many, Jin! You wasted your time and money to collect them all.”
Jin just shrugged, leaned closer to the younger and kissed his cheek. “I don’t need them anymore. I will keep the real turtle instead of the plushie one.”
“Ehhh?”
“You said it by yourself. Now I’ll keep you inside my room till Rina’s mother will come. She already have her turtles and I have my own turtle too. And it is the real one!” Jin proudly said, hugged the younger tightly so he couldn’t see how red Kazuya’s cheeks was, exactly like a tomato.
“But”
“No protest!”
“Jin, we shouldn’t-mmph”
Jin shut Kazuya’s mouth with a kiss.
“I love you.”
The room was locked. No one permitted to enter the sacred room owned by Jin and “his turtle”.
