Why yes. Yes I am.
I've never realized before how completely miniscule everything I posted about was before. At least until
Plurk came along. All the random nothings I used to rant about here have been been summarized into one liners that I plurk about instead. And I don't feel like talking about them again here.
And that's mainly why I've disappeared from here.
It's weird, because it's not that I'm lacking time to blog. I'm too LAZY to blog.
Thankfully, I've finally run into a bunch of things to talk about this time around. This should be a relatively long post, so I plan to turn it into one big lj-cut.
When the workplace abruptly stops being fun
So about work... ARGH, I really, really don't want to get into it. Honestly. The most I'll say is that morale at work is at an all-time LOW due to numerous reasons which are mostly related to each other. I guess it's mainly because of all the CHANGES that are happening. And everytime something blows up, another change is made. And another. And another. While we're still getting used to the previous ones. Suddenly, we're SMASHED with pressure, while we're still recovering from these switcheroos. And it's not good. I've been trying to stay mature about it, saying that I can handle it. It just needs time, adjustment, all that usual BS. But it's been almost four months, and things seem to keep getting worse instead of better. It makes me wonder if it's time to throw maturity out the window...... Ah well.
I just hope I don't end up blowing up somewhere along the way.
When cute cosplayers just can't beat the greatness of Master Pogi
AME fair! The second one I've ever been to! It was fun, honestly, even though mostly all we did was crawl around, looking at the cosplayers. We found several cosplayers to stalk though :D I would love to show everyone the CheshireCat!Hitachiin twin we found, but I don't know who has pictures.
It was a blast, too, seeing people I haven't seen a while, including sempai, Rach, and my darling honey-cake ^___^
The real highlight for me, however, was during the cosplay catwalk. Just like when went to the Anicon last month, and to LU!Live just a couple weeks back, there were, as usual, those girls who cosplayed cutesy characters, being utterly adorable, and trying to be the otaku's dream (And yes, I do mean the actual derogative meaning of the word otaku). And you'd THINK that they'd get a lot of attention from the pervs in the crowd.
But NOT THIS TIME! I was admittedly semi-shocked at how those cutesy gals elicited very little response from the audience. And then suddenly... you have Master Pogi (or Master Satan, to those out of our country), coming onstage and the crowd goes wild! Yes! The cutesy girls are completely bowled over by the oldies and the goodies, and the just plain fantastic (like all the armored guys and the robots). I was even amused at how people screamed for the Pandaren Brewmaster from Warcraft.
I do think, however, that the person who was screamed for the most was Hiei. Complete with his Kokuryuuha xD
I didn't get to finish the cosplays groups/skits though, because it was getting REALLY late and I wasn't sure how I was going to get home... 0_0
cea_chan and I firmly resolved something too. One day, we will get to cosplay again. And we plan to use something fun and nostalgic. I don't know what exactly yet (though her suggestion amuses me). I should probably lose weight by then :P
Ah well, til the next convention! ^____^
When your muses seem to have taken a semi-long vacation
I'm still really sad and guilty about not having made it to the
Fully Booked contest with
luckychan... I do blame myself a bit for not having drawn so much sooner...
I do hope we manage to continue it anyway ^^ I'll draw again tomorrow, if I could. Or maybe even scan everything I have so far, to finally begin editing.
Other than that, I have failed quite a bit at writing for the past couple of months. I haven't even submitted anything to
dormant_muses in a while... At the very least, I hope that
cea_chan and I get to finish the next chapter of GFC... Oh and speaking of GFC!
When a New Chaos is born
Actually, New Chaos is the name of the new, merged server in pRO. Yep! I'm back in Ragnarok. Again. I'm not exactly PERMANENTLY back. It's like I come back now and then to check on everyone.
What's been going on for me? WELL~~ I'll show you!
YES! As a matter of fact, that is my beloved Quinny, and our lovely Ceathiel, getting their final level angels. And YES! As a matter of fact, they got their final level angels INSIDE THE PRONTERA SACNTUARY!! :D The loveliest way to achieve that coveted aura, if ya ask me: via a quest! And believe me, the quests in Ragnarok have gotten so much better ever since they put out the Sign Quest.
We decided to run off and celebrate by taking a trip down Odin's Isle with Isaren. Yes, I used /aura because the blue was dazzling.
It was... somewhat shortlived however.
Yes, Quin, she is quite pretty isn't she? Hello there, Valkyrie. I'm sorry we intruded on your territory. Well, we'll be seeing you soon come December, when we finally make the jump to advanced classhood :D
Finally, I leave this particular rant off with a final pretty picture with aura.
Although, this 24-hour server maintenance is KILLING me. This is ONE thing I did not miss about pRO.
When the handhelds are starting to feel neglected
I haven't been playing anything on either the DS OR the PSP. I finally acquired Monster Hunter for the PSP, but I can't seem to FIND MY CHARGER!!!!!!!!!!! ARRRRGHHHH....!!!!!!
Ahem, yes... For the DS, I can't believe it, but what I've been playing the most lately is My Japanese Coach. It's actually pretty good! It's really simple yes, and it helps to already have a background on Japanese, but still... I was pleasantly surprised with how well it explains things like the verb forms. When it taught me the a-i-u-e-o base for Base-I verbs, things in my head just fell into place.
I haven't found any actual good GAMES on the DS lately though. Right now, I'm mostly waiting for the Kingdom Hearts games, I guess...?
When treasured people show up in unexpected places
What I -have- been playing, surprisingly, despite the existence of the PS3 as well, is Wild Arms 5. I know I still have Assassin's Creed, MGS4, and Star Wars: The Force Unleashed still going... not to mention I can finally continue FF12 as well... But for some reason, Wild Arms is the game that's calling to me the most nowadays... 0_0
I have to say, at the moment, I like it about five times more than Wild Arms 4 (although so far, it's not quite beating Wild Arms 3 on my fave list). Characters seem a lot more likeable (I think I found them a bit bland in Wild Arms 4, if not annoying). Just earlier I was rolling my eyes at Rebecca and saying to her, "Geez, if you want the guy to look out for you and take care of you, then why are you making yourself so tough...?" (This goes against my usual wishes of course, for a girl to need to WANT for some guy to save her... but you know what? It actually works for this character.)
I am SOOOOOO HAPPY that, even though they didn't bring back the old tool system, they put in something that was PRETTY CLOSE in addition to Jude's sliding and jumping and crouching ^_^
As to why I titled the section like this, I ran into a few shockers along the way. Actually
luckychan and her brother have already told me that people from WA4 show up as cameos in the game. I just didn't know how they would, such that I was pleasantly surprised to walk into an inn and talk to a couple of people... then realized what they were being named as: "Swordswoman with Ribbons" and "Good-looking Guy from the Neck Up" ... Two blinks later and I realized it was Raquel and Arnaud XD Also, later on, Yulie surprised me by giving me a mini-quest... to find her brother hehe. I guess this means HE'll be showing up as well later XD
But what REALLY shocked me was walking around in the same village that Yulie was in and running across "Guitar-Strumming Youth" .... It was Gallows from WA3!!
Now I'm excited to possibly run into Virginia, Jet, and Clive XD And I'm even hoping to run into Ashley, Lilka, Brad, Tim, Kanon and Marivel. And of course, into Rudy, Cecilia and Jack... and maybe even Jane... XD YES I've played all of them.
When it's finally time to retire old, good, cherished friends
And that friend is... my dear baby Warren. He's five and a half years old now... and in laptop years, that amounts to fifty-five... I'm still reluctant to let go of him... Although I think it's also partly because I'm reluctant to get a new laptop to begin with. I'm absolutely scared of getting a VISTA laptop. There's also the whole financial issue that I have to deal with, which means I won't be able to get a particularly high-end one.
But it's really time for me to let Warren rest. His connection to the adaptor is fried (almost literally), the cover/monitor can't stay up unless I rest it on something, the CD Drive no longer opens, the battery doesn't charge, my F5 and F8 keys aren't working, and I'm really, REALLY starting to struggle with the 40GB hard drive (WTF?? Warhammer Online is 15GB?!! *DIES*).
And I happened to fall in love with a laptop while my sister and I were at Octagon today... @___@ And I swear I smack
kristiann for knowing me a bit too well -___-
YES! I made up for all the lost time XD
