I just got asked to look up this word by my father. I think it is one of those wonderful words that makes English a great language. So specific and so useful. : )

velleity |vəˈlēətē; ve-|
noun ( pl. -ties) formal
a wish or inclination not strong enough to lead to action : the notion intrigued me, but remained a velleity.

Lol yeah. I'd adore this word if I could possibly contrive to imagine it appearing anywhere in a Rand novel. :P
