Just got back from watching and DAMN, Whedon knocked this one way, way out of the park. It was perfect.

Just got back from watching this move and I loved it. Fun, silly, angsty, and Dejah Thoris ... daymn....

For like the billionth time, I just watched "Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World." I love this movie ... I truly and sincerely think that it is in my Top Five (up there with "The Empire Strikes Back," which I maintain is the greatest movie ever made, and "The Dark Knight" which is the best comic book movie ever made) and can watch it ( Read more... )

Put simply, I loved this movie. To my great surprise, it quite likely eclipsed Iron Man 1 as my favorite Marvel movie. Review ahead, heavily influenced by my biases.

The Incredible Hulk

Using the remaining cash from the withdrawal I made on Friday (when I got a new ATM/debit card), I caught the latest comic movie showing.  To preface, I'm not that big a Hulk fan.  He's always struck me as a more interesting foil for the other characters - the almost mindless engine of destruction that is both feared and pitied ( Read more... )

In a word, this movie is fun. If you're like me and expected the hyper-stylized look to be limited to the races, I think you'll be surprised 'cause the world of Speed Racer is clearly not this world. The entire world is the brilliant pastels that you've seen in the trailers and it totally works for this movie.

To be perfectly honest, I can't think of a single flaw in this movie. As a comic book movie (wherein comic book physics overrule normal physics), it's nigh perfect.
