So I just saw this new interview with the lovely and gracious Cote de Pablo at EW entitled:
"NCIS: Cote de Pablo on Ziva's boyfriend and season-ending serial killer arc."
Seriously, if I hadn't already cut the show out of my viewing schedule, this interview would make it happen. Not because I'm angry or anything; it's just sad. Look, I get why Ziva (and Cote, for that matter) would want to be genuinely happy with a responsible, mature man (which certainly rules out DiNozzo), but its just really sad that the pairing I shipped for so hard has basically ended not with a bang, but with a resounding whimper.
So truthfully? I hope that Ziva ends up getting her happily ever after with this guy Ray and (my bitterness coming through here) DiNozzo's love life utterly implodes around him. Based entirely on his characterization, I can't see him ending up any way but alone and miserable because he refuses to grow up.
Bah. Thanks again, NCIS, for teaching me the lesson to not get emotionally involved in a television show. I certainly won't be making that mistake ever again.
