Postcards have been my obsession for the last couple months. In July I participated in my first monthly postcard exchange through a Yahoo Group called
Blue Haze. There are about ten people participating. Most people buy postcards to send, but I decided from the beginning to make my postcards.
Here is the first postcard I made...
(This is a drawing of Verdella the Vegan Dragon, a stuffed animal my Significant Other got me for my birthday this year.)
After a couple months, I decided I loved making postcards and I wanted to do more than the once-a-month exchange. I joined
PostCrossing in September, and it's great!
So far I have made 9 different postcards. For the monthly exchanges, I do either drawings or more personal photos. For PostCrossing, I've built some less personal postcards using stock photos (that I've paid for) and a quote. I've also got a couple photos I've taken myself that I send out for PostCrossing. Here's the first PostCrossing postcard I made...
It's a little bit hard to find an interesting quote that matches the stock photo and is also short enough to fit in the dead space of the photo! I've only got three of these type postcards, but I really like each of them.
Anyway. I really enjoy PostCrossing. I send out about 2 or 3 postcards every week (they limit the amount newbies can send). I have a few blank postcards sitting in my printer bay, and it just takes a couple minutes to address them and write a little note. I put the stamp on and I feel like I have accomplished something!
If you'd like to see some of my other postcards, visit my postcard Wall...
riftvegan Gallery at PostCrossing. I've uploaded all the postcards I've received (just 6 so far), if you click the dropdown you can view a couple of the pcs I've sent.
Happy Sunday.
