Last night sivvyswraith and I drove to Northampton, where we saw Ted Leo and the Pharmacists. The show was great, though it was a bit disturbing when Ted repeatedly smashed his forehead on the microphone during the encore.
The opening act was Apollo Sunshine, who I'd seen on a few schedules but never heard. They were pretty good, and when they announced that their drummer needed a ride to Boston to catch a flight, Kristin and I thought that might be fun. So after the show, we went to the afterparty (the whole audience was invited), stuck around until 3ish, and then drove Jeremy to Logan. While Kristin slept in the back seat, I learned about recording and touring, and got to hear their new album that's being released in September. I'll be buying it.
