Seals
On Sunday I began to think about a Selkie story, someone at the writer's group last week mentioned that my fox story reminded them a bit of the stories about the selkie, and I mentioned that I had yet to write one. I just never found a story about the seal people that grabbed me and started me writing. But now I have. On Sunday I started thinking about one and as I thought there were different parts of it that started to pop into my head.
The story is different than many selkie stories. In many of the stories the selkie is trapped by the man who becomes her husband, trapped as he takes her skin and hides it from her, but in this one I am having the seal woman come willingly.
I am still unsure where I want to take it, but I figure it will come eventually. It has been awhile since I wrote a story, quite awhile. I like that this one has come to be written.
