not much to report, race fans! why does everyone so love the noise and idiocy of high-powered vehicles racing around IN CIRCLES??? i mean, i get the high-powered vehicles part, but not the circles part. hm. it's even more mystifying to me than the lil 500 phenomenon.
but my reality is so far from that common existence... lately one of my main concerns is keeping my chow/cocker spaniel mix INside the fence. seems like since i have no chickens for him to be entertained by, he's been digging under the fence to range far and wide, massacre-ing fluffy bunnies and snoozing in my mom's yard. not so bad, except that he injured his paw a few days ago digging out, and it hasn't slowed him down a bit. he's all limping and being a tripod... awwww! i think he wrenched his little toe. it's not swollen, but the lymph node on the other side front leg area is a bit puffy. i've been giving him amoxicillin and aspirin... no doubt that's why he's feeling well enough to keep getting out.
in any case, my co-teacher at the GED class recommended to me today that i get a little "fido-fence" electrifier. apparently for $40 i can solve this problem! sign me up, i'm going to pell's hardware this very day. heck, after ol charlemagne learns by aversion therapy to leave the fence alone, i can switch the wiring over to the chicken fence to keep out coons and other critters (which are the reason i have no chickens today)! who knew electrifying the fence would be so cheap. what a deal.
in other country-fried news, i went to an auction this weekend and got a BOATload of older computer gear, including a large monitor that i hope works, all for less than $50. i'm planning to trade most of it to a computer-whiz friend, as a bribe for him to come fix our phone line and de-virus our main computer. he wants me to help him with a yard sale, so i figure the bribe AND the help should warrant the gift of his expertise. i NEEEEED internet access at home; not having it is making me crankified. and my neighbor who used to have the same kinda no-connect trouble isn't having it so much these days. so WTF???
now i'm going to hunt around for some people on LJ that i think ought to attend our memorial day party on sunday, and personally harass them into coming! boy i love technology.
