You know how sometimes people on your friends list post about stuff going on in their life, and all of a sudden you think "Wait a minute? Since when are they working THERE? Since when are they dating HIM/HER? since when???" And then you wonder how you could have missed all that seemingly pretty standard information, but somehow you feel too ashamed to ask for clarification because it seems like info you *should* already know? It happens to all of us sometimes.
Please copy mine below, erase my answers putting yours in their place then post it in your journal! Please elaborate on the questions that would benefit from elaboration! One-word answers seldom help anyone out.
1. First Name:
David. Yep, that's still the same.
2. Age:
25.
3. Location:
Highland Park, New Jersey. And I'm so over it. Places on the short list for next year: Astoria, Queens; TBD, Brooklyn; anywhere affordable, Manhattan; Jersey City; Newark. The basic requirements are a little diversity, some stuff to do, the ability to live easily without a car, and 24-hour access to New York.
4. Occupation:
Full-time graduate student. Part-time student recruiter. Part-time research assistant. And, beginning next semester, part-time intern in the Newark Department of Economic and Housing Development
5. Partner:
Not in possession of one at this time. I'm open to it, but not looking as hard as I had been. It was getting me nowhere but further down the road of unhappiness. My time will come.
6. Kids:
In about ten years, hopefully. Waiting for the position of husband to be filled before I get to that.
7. Brothers/Sisters:
Full sister Mindy is a freshman at Virginia Tech. Half-sister Danielle (aka Drae) is a mean-as-hell, increasingly dependent two-year old who suffers no fools gladly and will gladly tell you "I boss." Stepsister Rachel is transferring back to Virginia Tech next year, I believe.
8. Pets: none at the moment.
None. My roommate Amanda has a fish named Armand.
9. List the 3-5 biggest things going on in your life:
-I'm finishing up my penultimate semester EVER, and will graduate on May 17th, 2009 with a Master of City and Regional Planning.
-In 15 days I'm boarding a plane to go back to South Africa for the first time in more than 5 years.
-That's it. Wow, my life is really not too exciting right now.
10. Where and for what did you go to school for?
I went to Johns Hopkins for my undergraduate degree, and graduated in May 2004 with a B.A. in Geography; essentially it was an urban studies degree. I worked for three years and then began my current program, in City Planning with a concentration in Community and Economic Development.
11. Parents?
I'm up to four: two birth parents and two stepparents. All of them still live in Montgomery County, Virginia.
