~Okay, so there was a previous journal started sometime around the 13th of May here and it's basic message was of the downs. The week(s) leading up to it were slow, gray, and less than impressive in ways of day-in day-out. Instead of posting it late I decided to let it slide and make it private- we all get the downs and thankfully with them there are ups to follow. Not every bad situation is bad, though things get rough, the experience gained is that silver lining not to mention that without the bad what would we have to base the good off of?

~On today's slate I have to offer up the wonderful experience of a long hike up the mountains to Munro Lake in beautiful British Columbia

Finally with a day off Jarett, John, Matt and myself had an early breakfast then met with Jon and took a hike up the mountain side. It was beautiful scenery; a medium level hike that ended at the still frozen over lake. An odd feeling it is, going from shorts weather to a frozen lake and a good 4ft of snow. The stillness of the world and lack of human noise was bliss- good friends and grand exercise made the day into the retreat from everyday. Pleased am I.

~A few days prior, we had a night out at the Keg, a most enjoyable evening with a few friends who graciously picked me up at home since Jarett had to bus into work. Mr. p-dawg, Lace, huskydoggeh, and Kodi were the couples of the night. A lil' booze, good food, better company, and a night cap made for what I call a good night.
~Though I find it hard to feel like I fit in most of the time- I've really not had much to add to this table of friends, but that being said, everyone has been more than patience with me and welcoming. I can't help but feel at times that I am just a tag-along to Jarett, much to his dismay; my true joy is seeing everyone happy and chatting amongst one another- those moments are my reasoning for a smile on my own face. I may not always feel right around everyone, I mess up a lot and never know what to to, but catching people in the act of friendships just makes my day.

~Aside from that, Jarett and myself have been busy picking out paint and supplies for our condo. For a while now we've been planning on doing touch-ups here and there to make the rooms reflect our lifestyle, not just the décor but the paint, fixtures, and surfaces behind our possessions. A trip to Home Depot (plus one to get more stuffs) and we've got paint chips for the whole place, shelving for the second bedroom, new door locks and handles to replace the dated brass, and some new ideas for future renovations. The plan is to keep the front formal-simple, the paint calming, and the rooms clutter free and off the floor. We want to do the right things; longevity is crucial as resale value counts in the end, but we also want to have a place that reflects who we are. Jarett is happily taking in my ideas, I just hope I am not swaying his opinions on certain things as it is OUR place, not mine.
