Twofer!

I know, I know, I never post twice in a year, let alone one season.  But I have amazing news.

We bought the house!  *squee*

We did not, as I said earlier, put 20% down; only about 10%.  But even with the PMI, we still have a payment we can more than afford, and money left over to paint/move/whatever.  Not to mention, the mortgage covers the cost of major repairs, like a new roof, plumbing, etc.

Our lease is up at the end of April, which gives us plenty of time to get the house ready to move and start hauling our crap over.  Our first mortgage payment is due February 1st, which means if we can't break our lease we'll be making double payments for a couple of months.  But we've already done the math, and we will survive.  As soon as we have running water (the first repair), we can move in anytime we want, but the plan is to get walls painted and stuff like that first so I'm not moving furniture to do that.

Just wanted to check in, and check it off my list.  =)  Now the real work begins...
