I've just arrived back in New York after an awesome weekend at home.
I went home as soon as I could on Wednesday and just relaxed the rest of the day.
Thursday I worked on some music, had a nice dinner, then went to see Borat with Drew. Funny stuff, very edgy.
Friday I went to the range with Z, which was literally a blast, or many blasts. This was my first time firing a real weapon. I fired an AK-47, Mosin Nagant, Colt 45, and a sniper rifle (not sure what type). I shot at targets 100 and 200 yards away, 25 yards for the pistol. It was great fun putting some holes through bullseyes when I was accurate. I'm a novice shooter so sometimes I don't shoot with maximum precision, but my shots aren't wild either. Z however was hitting bulleyes all day at 200 yards through the iron sights of the Nagant. Impressive. I enjoyed almost blasting through half inch steel as I knocked over a plate, and using the scoped sniper rifle to get a headshot on a silhouette.
Friday night Drew and I looked for something to do, but failed. Did get to see a few SK friends for a short while though which was cool.
Saturday was airsoft, which gave me the chance for some shooting fun and hanging out with all my local friends at the same time. Good times.
Sunday I played my gig and made enough money to pay for my trip, then went to play airsoft, but when I got there it was already over. Oh well.
On my way back to the city I was very happy and surprised to discover that Dave and Ben were taking the same bus. I hadn't seen them for a while so that was cool.
I only have 3 weeks left until the semester is over and I can go home again. I can't wait. There's just so much going on there. You might be thinking that there must be a lot more going on in the city, and there is, but at home there's just fun things with long-time friends. All anybody ever wants to do here is get uncontrollably wasted. That's not always the most fun thing to do. Also when I get home I can start recording my new album!
I have decided that it is essential that I become a lifeguard next summer. I will most likely have to skip school to take the class, and that I will do.
