Took my nephew Aaron to see Curious George today. It was awesome! We both loved it. Very entertaining for both children and adults alike. I asked him what he wanted to eat afterward and he wanted spaghetti from The Olive Garden. When we got there, it was going to be an hour wait, which would not do. He was hungry. He then decided that we would go to Chick-Fil-A. What a change!
We've had very cold weather this weekend. The high is only supposed to be 40oF for the next few days. Some of the Houston suburbs are expected to have freezing rain tomorrow!
I have to share a cute story about Aaron. Because he's been visiting me on the weekends more often, and he LOVES stuffed animals, I bought him 3 to keep at my apartment. When I asked him what he was going to name them, he picked a cream colored dog and said it was Sara. Then he named the bulldog Grissom. When I asked what he was going to name the other one, he at first said Catherine (did I mention that he also LOVES CSI...and he's 5-1/2), then he said, "Wait, who's that brown guy with Catherine?" Yep, the third in his menagerie is now called Warrick!
Just in case you can't read the names, from left it's Warrick, Grissom and Sara. :-)
Stole this from
gglovebug. She and her husband celebrated their 21st wedding anniversary yesterday and I offer my congratulations to them both. In this day and age, 21 years is a long time to be married. My parents have been married for 45 years.
Create your own Movie List @ HotFreeLayouts! We've got the NBA All-Stars going on this weekend. Haven't seen much in the news about it though. There was some guy from Narobi, Kenya trying to break his old world record for dribbing the basketball. Saw that on the news Friday morning and haven't heard anything more about it...no idea if he made it or not.
Tuesday night, my sister, a friend and I are going to see
Bon Jovi. Can't wait! They are one of my all-time favorite bands. They put on a great live show. I've seen them 3 or 4 times already. Have to admit that when I first mentioned it and my sister said she wanted to go, I thought she was just kidding. She's not really the rock-n-roll type. But she was serious so I immediately went and bought tickets so she couldn't change her mind, LOL. I am trying to make Aaron into a rock-n-roller though. I made him a CD with some of my favorite songs on it and now he recognizes them and can sing some of the words. Among them: Proud Mary and Who'll Stop the Rain by CCR, Who are you by The Who, Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen, Wanted Dead or Alive and Let It Rock by Bon Jovi, Every Rose Has Its Thorn and Your Mama Can't Dance by Poison, I'm Your Captain by Grand Funk Railroad, Smokin in the Boys Room by Motley Crue, and California Dreaming and Monday, Monday by The Mamas and The Papas.
Getting cold in here so I guess it's time to get under the electric blanket.
