We Got Movie Sign!
Alright, I'm getting home from the theater about an hour later than I usually do, so this will be quick.
Here is my Two-Minute Review of The Kingdom.
I was really impressed by this movie. Some of the advertisements we got for it a while ago didn't make it seem interesting, but it was, actually really good. The movie grabs your interest from the beginning, and it doesn't let go.
The first two minutes, especially, are amazing, as animation, news reels, and pictures succinctly and clearly sum up the entire foreign relationship between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia. I felt I learned more in that two minutes then I have in my life up to this point.
One of the big highlights of the movie is the action, which is extremely well done. It has sort of a Bourne-esque feel to it, but it manages to be much more real in its depiction of violence.
The movie isn't all action, however, and it manages to also be at turns funny and scary in the culture clash between the American FBI agents, and the local Saudis.
In all, it was a very good movie, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for something this weekend.
