I immediately boycott any such list that includes Will Young and Joy Division put together because it's so, so wrong on so many, many levels.

I totally respect your decision. It is rather stupid, isn't it?!

I just don't see the point in these lists. There's about a million of them and they don't prove anything really.

I just wouldn't want a piece of shite to be branded "Best British Song Since 1977" though. :S

A lot of crap on there unfortunately...I can think of many songs worth inclusion that aren't on there.

The Look of Love?
True??
Careless Whisper?

Shouldn't the list be entitled "The Cheesiest song since 1977"??

Although I ashamedly admit to liking Careless Whisper, I wouldn't put it down as one of the greatest, but *bleh* I actually LIKE it for it's cheesy value.

As for the list itself, I can think of some great alternatives, but I guess no matter WHICH songs the list contained, there's always be someone who hated it. Although I can't think for a second who the heck thought The Streets would make a good contenter.

I think what they've done is taken the song that has won "Best Single" from each year of the Brit Awards and put them in a list. Something along those lines I think. :S

I think Sacrifice by Elton John should be well and truly off the list....just my 2p worth. And a few others - but some of the others are classics.
