Hot time on the old stove tonight!
SIMMONS: People are depressed here. They're eating. They're drinking. They're smoking. Some of them are very lost. And again, it's depression. And when you're depressed here in the South, you overeat.
That was me on Neil Cavuto last month. I was talking about New Orleans, where I grew up, since Hurricane Katrina. But I knew what I was talking about, from personal experience, even though I was in Beverly Hills when Katrina hit. Boy, if you want to know about depression, try walking around with an extra couple hundred pounds in that steamy tropical heat!
But I'm not depressed anymore. If I could curl my tongue right, I'd be whistling like a teakettle! I've got a new cookbook out next month, called "Steam Away the Pounds". It's full of fat-free recipes I made using my steamer! Like I told everybody on my web page, if I saw it on an infomercial, I'd buy it myself!
Actually, I've got to run to the gym right now, and get rid of this little...roll *points to midriff" before I start shooting the infomercials for QVC. Toodles!
