Booooooooooooored.
I made a comment about VP and now I want to go play it :(. Dumb band. Every week I really don't feel like going, but when I get there I have fun anyway. It's really weird. Kinda like swimming. I do everything I can to avoid swimming, but after I'm in the water you can't get me out. I'm odd like that.
I feel like with all the spare time in front of a computer I have at work I should get some decent writing done, but I really can't think of anything to write about. I keep thinking up all these nice scenes but nothing strong enough to base a piece of writing off of. The strongest leads I've got right now are, in no particular order:
1) Something based of Saga Frontier. In particular, a retelling of Emelia's story. I'd also change quite a few things - Joker would be a part of the BlackX organization (seeing as Ren was a cop) and Emelia would acquire the aid of a certain superhero colour. Possible love interest there, to get some practice on writing that sort of thing.
2) A shorter work, telling the story of a man in the Valkyrie Profile world who...does something...and becomes worthy of bbeing picked by Lenneth to become an Einherjar. The VP part is mostly just an excuse to write a really short heroic/dramatic work with a happy ending, and because I'm too lazy to make up an entire background world for such a short work to happen in, so this way I can just borrow the one from VP (which, with a bit of creative fleshing-out, becomes a very interesting place to tell a story from).
3) I have a Megaman Zero story I started a long time ago. I only got the first little bit done, and I had a general idea of where I was going with it, but I just never got around to doing it. The part I've written I've actually gone over several times (I wrote it like...a year or two ago) and it's actually really good, if I say so myself. I just don't have enough focus on where I want it to go exactly, and how to get there.
4) A completely original work that I could evolve into a D&D campaign at some point for when we pick up playing that again. It involves a very simple man who works on a farm in the country with his family. Then they're all slaughtered. Except him. He gets really pissed off and vengeful, and some deity or other sees this as an opportunity to smite evil and talks to the guy, and offers to change the souls of his family into armour/weapons for him to use that would kick evil ass (the souls of his family would all agree, of course - revenge is sweet). There's some other backstory going on here (why his family got killed, who the guys were who did it, etc) and still a lot of details to be worked out, but it was an interesting idea I had. Yes, this one is obviously the least-developed, as it is entirely original and I only thought it up this morning in the shower. The easy way to make this into a D&D campaign is have the player PC's meet up with the guy; he'd be an NPC played by me, who was extremely powerful, but needed help from the PC's to do something or another. Power != omnipotent.
Anyway, that's what's going through the brain at the moment. I don't know which to persue, they're all interesting in their own way.
Oh, time to go.
