Calmest and Happiest
I got cable and internet today. I am watching ANTM Cycle 383940. And I'm using the internet. Clearly.
At first glance, I hated our new apartment. But I love the location. Apparently, it's larger than my old house. I love it now. It is old and kind of ratty... just like every other fan apartment. It has creaky wood floors, but it's ours, it's homey, and it's in walking distance to all things nice. We have a nice evening walk every night. Ellwood Thompson's has a bin full of heirlooms right now.
I made a steak dinner with this amazing pan sauce. Best pan sauce I ever made. I can't stop eating heirloom tomatoes with fresh mozzarella. I also made a roast pork tenderloin with a made on the spot marinade. It was olive oil, chopped garlic, stone ground mustard, salt, pepper, sugar, thyme, rosemary and fennel seed. It was delicious.I botched a balsamic reduction twice. Somehow I still ended up with a nice balsamic... gravy. Rajesh makes this great salad with cucumber, onion and tomato... and plain yogurt. I love Indian food.
I used to color Precious Moments coloring books with an old friend all the time. I'm angry with myself for abandoning my old coloring books in my old house when I left town like a runaway. To make myself feel better,I bought a book of Precious Moments cross stitch. I started one with a caption that says "Life is full of ups and downs". Isn't that the truth?
I have started watching Mad Men, as recommended by Mom. It's great... it makes me miss cigarettes, though... Everyone smoked in the '60s. Even the pregnant chicks.
I'm actually sending out party invitations for Lily's birthday. She wants a Tinker Bell cake with Tinker Bell "a-balloons" and Tinker Bell napkins.
Rachel Leyco is opening for Madi Diaz. That's Hugo's old roommate and I love her music. I can't wait to go to this show.
The library is a block away. Lily and I walk there several times a week. I'm reading almost a book a day. The tiny library will run out of books for me soon. Then, what?
Also, for the record... Quist (the Martin's version of Sprite) is not at all AT ALL the same as Sprite. At all.
