Coming to you live, from Florida
So, I've totally stolen my brother's computer and perched myself in the one corner of the room that gets wifi so that i can wave hello to all of you. So... um... hello! *waves* Florida is quite nice, not as warm as I'd hoped, but fun none the less. The palm trees have been dancing in the wind the past few days, and the surf has been impressive. We're right in view of the beach, so I keep tabs on it. Swimming has been less than advisable though, due to how rough the surf has been. I went to the office to get a beach towel this morning and when warned against going to swim in the ocean said "Oh no, I'm only going into the pool, the beach looks like it might eat me." To which the lady at the desk replied "Oh yes, she might!" So yeah, not so much with the ocean swimming, but the beach is pretty.
Trip victories so far:
Have repeatedly not started or given in to other people starting huge fights with my family
Shopping found me a sun hat EXACTLY like I've been wanting for YEARS, and some comfy sandals to walk around in
Starting a fic that might actually get written (Yes, Kath, it's the one you think it is)
Getting almost 4 hours of sleep a night (trust me, on vacation, in a twin sized bed, with my family stressing me out during the day, and sharing a room with my brother the human snore sound effects machine... this is an accomplishment
Seeing "Date Night" and actually finding it MORE entertaining than expected
I'll be back to regular contact with you all by late Saturday night or early Sunday morning, depending on when I finish my expect vacation recovery of sleep nap. Hope you're all having good weeks too. :-D
