Finally

This for naria, inspired by liz barr.

It took me long enough and hopefully I can pull off the rest of the drabbles I owe this month, though this turned into a full blown fic.

Fandom: Naruto
Title: Inevitable
Pairing: dark KakaSaku

She knows it is a certainty-- he will save her, he is the only one left to.

YOU HAVE MADE ME READ A SAKURA/KAKASHI FIC!

The boys fight and succeed, fail and bleed,

I love this line, I don't know why but I just do. It's so fitting.

I am pretty proud of my self for pushing this plot bunny out of my head. KakaSaku amuses me but I do not think it is likely to happen. Not with out some earth shattering event to force it into being.

Like Sakura and Naruto going after Sasuke, only for them to fall at each other's hand. Sakura survives but that is not saying much. Kakashi is the only one closest to Cell 7 to pick up the pieces.

It came form an image I had of a rain soaked Sakura standing over Sasuke's corpse with a kunai in her hand and saying "You are always late, Kakashi-sensei."

I really had trouble with that line. Glad you liked it.

For some reason, KakaSaku has never really lit up for me the way a few other het teacher/student (because for whyever in Naruto-dom, I only like the het teacher/student) pairings do. But I really like this anyway. It's an interesting writing style, and I like that it's about Team 7 (including Kakashi) rather than just Kakashi/Sakura.

KakaSaku is the only teacher/student dynamic I can stomach for the most part. GaiTen is down right bizarre and InoAsuma does not click with me. He works better with Kurenai in my view.

KakaSaku has the potiental for a better chemistry than most of my fave alt. pairings. She is smart, driven, affectionate, and has a sharp sense of humor and that offsets Kakashi's lazy genius and low key attitude pretty well. Not to mention, Sakura has never had the close relationship Kakashi shares with the boys-- it seems less incestous to me.

But I think that it would take rather dire circumstances for it to happen-- like Cell 7's mutual destruction.

I played with the future tense in the past and enjoyed the sense of futility and kismet it brought to the fic. Sakura is a smart cookie and probably can predict the future better than her teammates; she is not blinded by hard headed optimism or tunnel vision arrogance.

GaiTen is bizarre. I really like InoAsu though. In terms of character dynamics and general canon sense, AsuKure works worlds better, but there's something about InoAsu that strikes me as sexy as heck. And then I like OroAnko, even though Orochimaru/anyone (but the other sannin, although I'm convinced they belong together in a pairing that doesn't include him, since they're all more or less balanced in terms of power) creeps me out - especially with a student, because you just know that if he wanted something from them when they were underaged, there wouldn't be anything moral in him to stop him. So OroAnko is a squick, if-it-happened-then-not-the-way-I-like-to-think-of-it pairing for me, but *shrugs* Oh, and I forgot one non-het pairing - I don't mind TsuShizu, although it breaks up my OTP.

"breaks up my OTP" should be "isn't my OTP", since, ahah, OTP not together.

GaiTen is not bizarre but running south three blocks south of the Twilight Zone.

The way you write InoAsu works: sexy, vampy and alot of fun. I suspect you will bring me around to this pairing soon enough. OroAnko is like a trainwreck, disgusting, frightening, and fasinating in a can't-peel-my-eyes-away-no-matter-much-I-want-to way. Oro/Anyone (besides teenage sannins) has a high squick factor because of how physcologically intuitive and abusive he is.

TsuShizu works best out of all the yuri relationships that could be in Naruto. Shizune does worry and take after Tsunade like a mother hen most of the time. It is more fluffy than any other Tsunade pairing I have seen except for TsuDan.

I can't see Gai with any of his students. Pairing him in general makes me go "ahhah, wah?" with the exception of GaiKaka - and also, I don't think Gai would ever, ever sleep with/kiss/etc a present or former student. His principles would not allow it, especially not with Lee. Anything with him and a student would have to be kept to UST or perhaps a one-sided crush from the student for my brain to not explode thinking about it, but even then, it will stay far far away from the idea ( ... )
