White Collar 3X01
Okay, some White Collar thoughts (didn't want them in the other post in case people wanted to comment on the rest of the post and didn't want to accidentally be spoiled)
Oh NEAL. My heart. ;_; I enjoyed the episode but am nervous and sad about where this is going. I can't see it ending well... I hope Neal eventually does the right thing, but as I've seen others saying, then he'd be betraying Moz. So he's fucked either way. Of course, I think inevitably something like this had to happen to move the show and his character forward - he can't keep walking the line between legal and illegal forever. He has to choose... and this is his big temptation. Every character must be tempted by the dark side, after all! :)
Of course, it's hard to know where Mozzie will fit into all of this - because if and when Neal truly goes clean, where does that leave him? I don't really see him turning away from a life of crime completely, but I don't want his and Neal's BFF-ness of go away. :( But Neal's inevitably going to have to come clean and give up the stash somehow - he can't sell it/run away with it and have the show go on as it is. Or remain a sympathetic character, for that matter. And when he does, I don't see that ending well for Moz.
And in the meantime, Neal and Peter are breaking my heart because OH. I want to be upset that Peter doesn't trust Neal except that in this case he's right. And that hurts. I hate the idea that Neal is betraying Peter (and god, he was going to leave!), and I can't help but hope that maybe he would have changed his mind at the last minute. Guess we'll see how it goes form here. (though I'm a bit amused how he gave no thought to leaving his girlfriend. Leaving Peter/El/June/the FBI gives him pause, but he doesn't even mention her! And I actually like them okay. They have good chemistry, anyway. And the library scene last season was hot as hell.)
Anyway, random things:
- Jones is awesome! Loved Neal's method of losing him (Magritte! The hat and the umbrella! The apple! hee. Inner art fan/daughter-of-an-artist-who-talks-about-art-incessently is amused). And being all awesome at the end. But I thought Sharif Atkins was going to be a regular this season?? Or maybe I imagined that.)
- Neal fencing! Neal's tie! Peter keeping Neal's tie! Love it.
- Mozzie in a pilot suit is hysterical
... I'm sure there was more but I'm blanking. Anyway, fingers crossed for this season - I'm nervous but excited. Suppose we have to have some angst and friction between Peter and Neal... it can't always be happy fun time. :)
