(no subject)
Have been on hold with Apple for the last 20+ minutes... trying to replace my headphones. *sigh* I'm eligable for their 'Apple Headphones with Remote Replacement Program', and I started a service request online a few weeks ago but somehow fucked up and ended up with a partially completed request, no repair/case #, and no ability to start a new request or edit what I'd started. ^^; Hence, have called Apple to try to fix it. The guy said that he found an incomplete request for my serial #, as I suspected, so he's going to get his supervisor to help me complete the request. Sometime, you know, in the next decade. Thank God Bell doesn't charge long distance on incoming calls... least not afaik, and I googled to check (hey, it's been half an hour, I've got nothing better to do, and I was a bit worried.
................ -__- And the call just hung itself up. Whaaat. Thanks, guys. Least he's got my phone number, so he can (and hopefully will) call back. Barring that, hopefully the number I have from when he called me back (he took my number earlier while searching for my repair order and called me back, then put me on hold fo 30 min...) is a direct number that will reach him personally. But I don't want to call them; the number's in Texas (yeah, I looked that up too; I was bored...) and I don't want to pay long distance. So here's hoping he calls back.
Anyway. *sigh* I've been putting this off for weeks, and this is my morning to Get Shit That I've Been Putting Off done. Called 2 temp agencies that I registered with last year to say I'm available again for temp work. Not ideal, but I need something while I search for a job...
Woo, he just called me back! Apologized for the disconnect and said he'd be 2 minutes. Back on hold. Here's hoping... I'm vaguely amazed at how difficult this is. -_- This has been, like, 45 minutes of this guy's day, heh. And, you know. Mine. But I'm not doing anything else, at least. Temp agency calls done and am re-registered, and finally called the dentist which I'd been sort of putting off, too. Woo. Exciting morning! Soon as this is done I'm having lunch, then will get out of here. Nothing exciting to do; might go to the library and study. Yeah, I know how to live it up. ;)
Aaanyway. Christmas is over, alas. It was crazy busy with soliloloquyv's family here (our house isn't really big enough for 9 people, heh), but fun. Great to see her and her family. :) Got some good swag for Christmas:
- new drawing tablet
- Due South seasons 1 and 2 (got s4 for my birthday and have ordered s3 with a gift card Grandma gave me for Christmas, so yay!)
- various crochet/knitting books and supplies, including a nice bag to hold all my yarn and crap. Have started learning to crochet and am excited to eventually learn how to make plushies. :)
- Earth: The Book by Jon Stewart - muchly entertaining, as expected
- Farscape season 4 (to complete my collection)
- misc. other books/etc
And lastly, an awesome gorgeous amazing Fraser/RayK drawing by soliloloquyv, who is a starving artist and offered to draw me fanart. :) Will take a picture of it (it's framed, so hard to scan) and post later.
And in other news... 30 minutes after I wrote that last sentence, I am having new headphones sent to me! Yay! That took me, like, well over an hour. Amazing the things I'll do to save $30... but yay for victory. :) I could delete everything I wrote above, but... what the hell, I already wrote it. It stands as a testament to my frustration. ;)
