Pairing: Heechul/Gunhee
Rating: PG
Summary: levelling
A/N: It's a drabble but I finally knocked a fic out. It's vaguewriting the fic.

“I saw what you said on instagram,” Heechul says, leg crooked and tapping rhythmically against the tiled floor of Gunhee's kitchen.

“What specifically I've been saying a lot of things on instagram,” Gunhee says, turning to Heechul after sticking some leftovers in the microwave and setting the timer.

“About Heejin having kids so you can have a niece or nephew,” Heechul says, swaying slightly on his foot, still tipsy from too much wine at the reception.

“Okay, so you saw it,” Gunhee shrugs.

“What's it supposed to mean,” Heechul asks.

“That's a loaded question,” Gunhee turns to the microwave when it beeps, “It feels like there's only one correct answer to that.”

“The correct answer is whatever the truth is.”

“The truth is I wasn't really thinking,” Gunhee opens the microwave door, but leaves the food to turn to Heechul again, “I just think of her as family and I think of your mom and dad as family.”

“Oh,” Heechul says, trying not to seem disappointed because how embarrassing would that be.

“But you know,” Gunhee steps closer to Heechul, “The reason I think of them as my family is because of you...and me...and me and you.”

Heechul rolls his eyes.

“And I'm not adverse to what you thought of when you saw what I wrote.”

“You know I hate it when you pretend to know what I'm thinking,” Heechul says.

“But I'm right aren't I?” Gunhee teases, toe to toe with Heechul at this point.

“About what?” Heechul teases back.

“That the reason I said that was because I wanted to marry you.”

Heechul tenses at The Word. “And you're saying you would even though I basically backed you into a corner about it.”

“Do you really believe that thought never crossed my mind until this moment?” Gunhee asks, “It did, but I wasn't planning on saying anything especially after...plus I figured you'd kick my ass.”

“Never stopped you before,” Heechul huffs, “But it's not off the table if that's what you want.”

“If? No ifs here babe,” Gunhee reaches up and tugs on a strand of Heechul's hair, “Trust me, I do. I wanna marry your brains out.”

Heechul snorts and it's ugly but it really doesn't matter here. “Not now though. You have to wait at least a month because I feel like I forced it out of you and I need to know you're sure. Also I want a ring and to go to a fancy restaurant and amazing happy-sex.”

“The wedding got to your head,” Gunhee says, shaking his head, “But you'll get it.”

“And I want a medium length engagement. And I'll wear a dress or suit or both I can't decide.”

“And we can invite the whole world and they can all see how happy we are,” Gunhee adds, taking Heechul's hands in his.

“And they can be happy with us or curse us and it won't matter,” Heechul swings their linked hands back and forth, “And it will be better than the other members' weddings.”

Gunhee chuckles. “Definitely in the top fifteen.”

Heechul gives him a look. Heechul's thoughts drift off and his smile starts to slip. “I can't wait.”

“It's just a month,” Gunhee says, avoiding the real issue.

Heechul manages to bring his smile back. “Yeah, a month.”

A month and Heechul will get his ring. And Gunhee will get his because Heechul doesn't want to feel like this is one sided. And they won't be able to wear them, but they keep them safe in their apartments and they still go to a fancy restaurant and have amazing happy-sex.

And a year later they pretend to get married in their apartment in sweats and t-shirts with only the cats as their witness and they eat too much store bought cake and drink too much wine.

Heechul still thinks it's the best one out of all the other members' weddings.
