I have some complaints about last night's episode.
Y'know, if you have FOUR people with military-grade rifles THAT ALL HAVE SCOPES ON THEM, why is it so difficult to shoot ONE guy out of the tower? All we see are scenes of them running and hitting zombies perfectly in their heads EVERY time, yet they can't shoot down one dude from distance? Horseshit! Do you know how hard it is to run and gun? And here there are four of them behind cover and they can't get the guy? UGH.
You have the Governor and his flunky (same guy who drove the zombies in) at the truck, one dude in the trees, one on the tower, and everyone is pinned down? UGH. And poor mustachioed guy! I liked him, whatever the hell his name was. I still don't remember everyone's name, even the main cast. There's Hershel's daughter Blondie who I can never remember.
Is Rick's slow slide into insanity in the comics? Because that storyline is irritating to me. It's also selfish! Rick has his son and new daughter to worry about, and he's going moony over the woman who cheated on him, then played his best friend against him? And then Lori was supportive of Shane -- the guy who tried to rape her!! -- and then schemed around him with Rick, who she then convinced that Shane wasn't thinking straight and that he should kill him...just...ugh. FYI, I would have followed Shane and left these idiots.
I don't know if Lori's duplicity was planned from the start or whether her characterization was similar to the comic or if they just screwed up the writing (my opinion), but damn they made her purposely conniving. It would have been nice to have her be a strong female character. Oh well, right? I can't expect much from a comic adaptation.
I did cheer when Daryl came back in the nick of time to save stupid, stupid Rick. If they accept Merle into the fold I'm going to have issues though. I already have issues with Daryl going with him in the first place. I mean, wasn't there a discussion at some point in which Daryl was telling Carol about how he was abused by Merle? Or am I imagining that? I swear he told someone about it.
I also used to like Andrea. Now I could care less about her and her contrived romance with the governor. How dumb can she be? She's survived this long only to have the wool pulled over her eyes? Maddening.
Last thing: why doesn't anyone think to run over the fricking zombies in the giant Dodge Ram pickup they have?? Stick a few people in the bed, have someone drive out where all the zombies are milling around, run them over, then jump out and finish them off. Break their legs they can't walk, right? ARGH.
