*siiiiigh*
One good thing about being poor this year? I got to e-file my federal and NY state tax returns for free. I went to H&R Block online, went through their amazingly easy process (like, I couldn't believe how wonderful easy it was!), and had everything completed and e-filed within an hour. It helps that I own nothing, have no children, and have no money. Residents of New York and five other states can e-file state returns for free if they meet certain requirements. I just typed in "NY taxes" in Google and was led to NY's Division of Taxation. I'm getting money back from the government but I had to pay NY. Meh.
My girlfriend went to Miami Beach for a bachelorette party this weekend. I drove her to LaGuardia this afternoon, and getting there was okay, but getting back was hairy. We sat down last night and we Google Street View-ed the whole trip because I've never been there, and had to navigate the roads by myself after I dropped her off.
It's not like driving in NJ, which is what I'm used to. Up here, all the damn roads are squished tightly together and the exits and merges come at you really fast. With my bad eyes I have trouble reading road signs, so it doesn't help when I have to be right next to a damn sign to read it and suddenly realize OMG I NEED TO BE OVER THERE and then try to navigate through tractor trailers, insane livery drivers, trucks, and other dangers of the NY roads. My heart was pounding the entire drive home!
In better news, I have
Scrapple for dinner. Yes, it's delicious. Yes, I have a weakness for innards. Don't judge this Jersey girl.
