I don't care about the ultra stupid "dragon" MotW. I liked the burny hand thingy, but he should have thrown fireballs or something. I won't comment on the Purgatory thing because I disliked that when we were dealing with the Alphas (I suppose we've conveniently forgotten about them as well?)
But I digress.
The greatest thing about the episode was that scene between Sam and Cas. Thank you, Padalecki, for doing a better acting job in that one small moment -- when Sam learns about his soul from Cas -- than you've done most of this season. Yes, yes, I realize he was Not-Sam and all that. I stand by my assessment. I love Sam. I like Evil Sam and Regular Sam. I do not like Empty Sam.
The Sam/Cas relationship has been growing, which I love. Dean seems to have a constant antagonistic relationship with him which grates on me not because I ship them but because Dean is so goddamn ungrateful. However, I like how Sam has established almost a little brother thing with him.
As far as the decision to not tell Sam, if the situation were reversed I think Dean would start throwing punches for being lied to and kept in the dark, blah blah, but I was surprised Sam wasn't angrier. I mean, yeah, Sam being Sam he's upset about what occurred. Dean, however, gets away with lots more shitty stuff.
