Had a good afternoon; took Kirsten and Brenda for a ride. All three horses were VERY good, Smoke was an angel about leg yeilding, it was nice to know that he IS capable of listening to me, it's just taken a LONG time to get to that point. He gave me some nice rounding too, so I was happy. It's kinda weird, he rounds really well right before he decides to leg yeild. Brenda rode Sham, there was a little bit of unexpected trotting up the hill by the tracks, but I was in front of them so Sham stopped when she got to us.
Taught Kirsten how to roundpen Kissy, she did well. She was hesitant at first, but I told her how to be more assertive and explained WHY she needs to be more assertive. All it'll take her is time to learn it I think. I think that it'll be a good experience for me to learn how to teach too.
Kissy's starting to look good, she's got some weight on her now, and she's lost that emanciated look that she had when she first got here. She's getting some muscle on her butt too, I hadn't really taken a good look at her before today, but she's looking much better than she was. We've got the weight on the ribs, now we need to work on muscling, that'll come though. Apparantly she'd been sitting for a year with nothing done with her, so that explains better why she was so undermuscled.
I am now officially unconciously engaging my ab muscles! Woo!
