I got a date!!!

As in a calender, that is. Differentiation seems all set for 23rd June. AT FRICKIN' LAST!!! *Does the dance of joy*

Only now I'm getting nervous. What am I supposed to actually do or say at this thing? I have a vague idea that it's an interview panel-type thing, but what they're going to ask me, I have no idea. Plus, Leon wants me to add some new stuff to my sample chapter about the monthly wrappers and how they fit visually with the theme of the Wheel of Fortune. :/ Thing is, the two novels I've concentrated on in my chapter, Our Mutual Friend and Little Dorrit, their monthly wrappers don't fit quite so easily as some of the other monthly wrappers do (Dombey and Son, David Copperfield). I'll have to pull off some intricate nonsense which sounds like I know what I'm talking about. (Actually, that's what most of my chapter is made up of, anyway.) He also wants illustrations. Does Rhonda know how to add illustrations to Word? No, Rhonda does not. I wonder if inserted photocopies would do?

Damn, our run of good weather broke today. Yeah, forgot to mention the glorious sunshine we've been getting. Well, it's no more. Rain, rain, and grey. :( And I thought that this year, I might actually pull off a tan instead of my usual sunburn.

Being in the house on my own last night, I went and rented out "Underworld". What a wasted opportunity. It was spoiled by confused editing and a sloppy script. Selene: ok, big vampire warrior, so why didn't she tie her hair back? It was forever getting in her eyes; how's she supposed to make a good shot with her vision obscured like that? The vampires' covenant and the two covens were never clarified. The plot about needing the human-Corvinus bloodline to enable the two species to cross-breed wasn't consistent: Sonya and Lucian were going to have a child together without any human-Corvinus blood, and Marcus was turned hybrid with werewolf blood alone, although maybe that had something to do with his being a direct descendant from Corvinus, and possibly the werewolf was also a direct desecendant.

I liked the ending and the werewolves though. I refuse to call them Lycans. If you're going to apply fancy new terms to the old legends, then be consistent and do it with them both. If werewolves have to get a new name, so should the vampires. They could have been called "haemos" or something derived from the ancient Greek for "bat". It just struck me as uneven. I'm inspired now to write some werewolf fic.

Oh, and welcome jay_nyasu_mint :) I hope you enjoy your stay here.
