I spent practically all of Thursday in our library's technology room. It was fairly quiet and I had two large tables put together to work on which I needed as I spent several hours muddling about making a pattern from a really nice tee-shirt a friend got me at a garage sale.
I'm not sure how the manufacturer accidentally managed to create a tee-shirt that fits me so well but I'm determined to have a serious try at making a copy of it and if the first one is successful, I plan on making several more.
I have another knit shirt with a cowl neck on it that I also really like the fit of. The only flaws it has are 1) a silly pair of tiny little pockets the designer insisted on putting on top of the belly area and 2) a pair of tragically too short long sleeves.
This knit shirt fits nicely from shoulders to hem. The sleeves fit nicely in the upper arm area and if I add another 5 inches of length, they will look very nice on me.
Shoulders that fit me properly are hard to come by. I've always hated sleeves that began halfway down to my elbows despite the fashion designers' never-ending flood of such shirts, blouses, tee-shirts, and dresses.
[I guess I have weird tastes. I don't mind long dolman sleeves as they are made in one continuous piece with the bodice and I'm rather fond of short dolman sleeves for summer wear as they keep the top of my upper arms covered--as long as they aren't cut too tight. I just do not want anyone attaching a sleeve to them thinking I should wear that.]
Friday is cold, rainy, and dreary. I got Hubby back from his eye doctor's appointment this morning with the news that his eye seems to have improved a bit. (Unfortunately, he's been told he has cataract surgery to look forward to in another couple of years, so he's all gloom and doom--despite us having a very good eye surgery place over in Indianapolis.)
In a little bit, I'm going to go donate some blood for the uric acid levels that my gout doctor wants to check.
After that, I'm going to the grocery store for a rotisserie chicken as I'd like a chicken sandwich for my supper or perhaps a chicken pot pie.
Once I'm home again, I'll make supper and then I plan on doing some more cutting out or I'll just kick back and read. Today is not a day for doing any housework. I'm just not in the mood.
Strangely enough, I'm not in the mood for the Goodwill stores either this afternoon. You know what I am in the mood for this afternoon? Daffodil bulbs.
Yup. Like I really need to buy more daffodil bulbs. But that's what my lil heart's set on this afternoon, so I'm headed to Tractor Supply because that's the only place in town that still has some.
