Argh

I probably should post at some point soon about my lovely trip back to IN (and/or the horrific travel experiences that bookended it). But right now I just want to say this:

People who live somewhere in my neighborhood: Why o why, in the name of sweet baby Jeebus, are you obsessed with setting off firecrackers? Why is it always late (after 10 pm) on a weeknight? Why do you persist in doing this despite the fact that we are miles away from any holiday on which it would be occasionally appropriate to do so? What the fuck, in short, is your problem?

Firecrackers annoy me. People who voluntarily make things go boom late on a work night annoy me. Stop the madness.

In other news, little does he know it, but tonight is Schmendrick's last night as an only cat. I pick up baby kittenpants tomorrow after work. Will take her to the city clinic for her shots on Saturday unless I can get an appointment at the vet office near my house that was recommended as the best in town. (I have to keep her isolated from Schmendrick until she's been examined and vaccinated and such, but I'd like to try to introduce them before the weekend's over, as I want to be sure that I'm around to supervise their initial face-to-face interactions. Poor Schmendrick doesn't know what's about to hit him. Here's hoping he'll be benevolent rather than a bastard.

Tonight was supposed to be the last ATS class of the session, but it didn't end up happening-- Lindsey didn't have anyone show up for her level 1, and I was the only potential person for her level 2, so she called and left a message asking if I'd want to come earlier or just ditch it altogether. I didn't get her message until 7 pm, though, at which point I'd just gotten out of Core & Stretch class and was walking home, and I wouldn't have been able to get to the studio before 8. I've been in her position before, and I felt really bad about leaving her just waiting around, plus she said she was going out of town for a wedding this weekend and had a bunch of stuff still to do, so we agreed just to call off class. But we're going to talk next week and schedule some definite times for the three of us to rehearse together instead of having class, so that's exciting. Yay, moar ATS, and possible performance opportunities!

schmendrick, cats cats cats!
