Q: Does England have a Fourth of July? and other silly game clues

Jul 05, 2010 21:01

Why can't Americans read a calendar?  Every Independence Day weekend, our idiot neighbours set off (illegal) firecrackers for about a week before/after the 4th.  Guys, it's called Independence Day because it only lasts 24 hours.  Duh.

In other asshatery about the fourth, I think we should get rid of the overdone "entertainment"/fireworks on TV and have people recite the Declaration of Independence and the entire US Constitution, along with whatever other founding documents, on TV every Independence Day.  It should be considered extremely unpatriotic not to watch--and no Republican ever wants to be considered unpatriotic...oh, but then they couldn't try to twist the words of our democracy into their hatefulness, right.  ::is bitter about "patriotism"::

rl, rant
